I was wrong about Lindsay Clancy. Here’s why I changed my mind. She was never diagnosed with postpartum depression or psychosis. She was not on 13 medications at once. She was not “hearing voices.” She was not abandoned by her family. She was diagnosed with a mood disorder -... never psychosis - and went to a variety of doctors who all prescribed different medications, which she took unreliably and not simultaneously. She only heard a voice one time - and that was right before she killed her kids. Extremely atypical for psychosis. She carefully planned her children’s murders down to the minute. She researched the distance of a restaurant she’d ask Patrick to go to. Added on a last-minute errand before he left. Calmly answered his phone call in the middle of her crime. Brought her children down to the basement one by one, overpowering their resistance and killing them slowly. It does seem like she had support from her family. She may have still been overwhelmed, but it’s not true that all of her cries for help went unanswered. I originally placed too much blame on the many SSRIs she was prescribed. For years on my show, I’ve talked to health professionals who have been warning about the violence-inducing effects of these drugs, and I thought Lindsay’s case may be an example of that reality. Is it still possible these SSRIs had a negative effect? Absolutely. But the case that these drove her into a psychotic episode is weak. This evidence continues to reveal, in my opinion, that Lindsay Clancy methodically murdered her children and she was fully aware of what she was doing.show more

I genuinely cannot understand how someone can watch this story and still stand there, looking at two women, and somehow decide that the wrong one is the victim. On one side, you have a girl (Yıldız) who has been mistreated her entire life. Since the moment she was born, she was treated like a sacrifice for a conflict she was never even part of and later we find out that this conflict never even existed. Her right to study was taken from her. She was pushed into a marriage at a very young age just imagine being six, seven, eight years old, living in fear of being tied to someone you don’t even know. She was treated like a servant in her own home, by the very people she thought were her family. And just when she gets close to the happiness she dreamed of, the man she was engaged to shows up with another wife. She gets mistreated by that wife, by his family, and even (unintentionally) by him, because he was trying to run away from his own feelings, and that only caused her more heartbreak. The whole world was literally against her. She fought through all of that, only to find out in the end that everything she suffered for was based on something that wasn’t even real. Her entire life was built on a lie. That she isn’t even part of that family that she has literally no one in this world. Now on the other side… You have a girl (Melek) who, yes, was taken from her biological mother but she was raised by loving parents. She had everything anyone could wish for: education, freedom, a happy childhood, a healthy environment. She lived her life, fell in love, went out, made choices and no one questioned her, no one controlled her. And then what did she do? She found out that her man was engaged to another woman before marrying her (and even saw him marry her) and instead of holding on to her dignity, she chose to stay, to fight for a man who lied to her, to hold onto a marriage he tried to end multiple times. She used her unborn child to keep him tied to her. She lied constantly, and her excuse was that she was “protecting her marriage” a marriage that was already broken from the moment Serhat removed that ring at the airport in episode one. She tried to hand Yıldız (a woman who had already suffered enough) over to dangerous people. Then she found out the truth about her own birth (that her father ra*ped her mother.)And still no empathy. No moment of humanity toward her own mother. All she cared about was herself. And even though none of this had anything to do with Yıldız, she still found a way to blame it on her. Instead of holding her father accountable, she went and made a deal with him to get rid of Yıldız. She literally made a deal with the devil just to hurt Yıldız one more time. And after all of that… you want me to feel sorry for her? You want me to call her a victim? Interesting things about Taurie Cain's lore that got changed in development, I lightly touched on some of this before: - She was not meant to have a name, only being known as a cultist to showcase her life of servitude and dedication to the Entity. - Her early beginnings were that she lost her family somehow and was homeless in the streets of Edinburgh (changed to Glasgow). The reason she joined the cult was to both have a community but also a place for warmth and food. The cult saved her. - She was a hardened and rebellious punk who had to do what she could to survive alone on the cold streets, this is why her default is kind of... homeless chic lmao. - She, in fact, HAD killed before in the name of the cult. She would've been the first original Survivor to have killed an innocent soul by her hand *intentionally*. This was later changed to where she hesitated on her first and only kill attempt and it cost her everything. - I don't know the circumstances of how or why she was taken by the Entity as a Survivor (and not a Killer) in her original lore.

The woman recording went to this store to shop, when she got close to the register she was confronted by one of the workers who saw she has keloids on her skin and confused it with monkeypox. The worker then refused her service and told her she had to leave. The woman was upset and explained to her that no she doesn’t have monkeypox it’s just keloids. The worker acknowledges she made a mistake and apologizes, however she still is refusing to serve her and asks her to leave, she even calls a manager who tells her to call security. It’s understandable if she thought she had a contagious disease but once that was cleared up shouldn’t she had just rang her up and let her go on with her day?

On January 19th, #lindsayclancy searched “symptoms of PPP.” That was 4 days prior to her very convenient apparent moment of psychosis where she strangled each of her children to death. Ian Whiffin’s timeline of events is disturbing. From what I can glean, Lindsay apparently missed a call from Patrick because she was busy unalive in one of her children. But she made sure to call him back immediately as to not have him worry and rush back home? She went as far as being able to answer a question about medication for the very child who during that phone call was either dead, or about to become unalived. Lindsey Clancy deserves prison, period.

She said the marriage was fine in the honeymoon years because she still had a job, still had her own life. Then the kids came, she became a stay-at-home mom, and, her words, it was the death of her independence. From the outside she was living the American dream. He made good money, she got to stay home, she was supposed to be happy. Inside, she said her soul was dying and she didn't even have the language for it yet. She was not qualified for the job. She was not competent to be in that position. She should never have been nominated.
