This kind of thing goes both ways but naturally, Netflix would only ever present the story in a way that paints the Christians as the abhorrent, unreasonable ones. I had a Jewish friend when I was young. He met and fell in love with a Christian woman. They became very serious and wanted to marry but he would only marry her if she became Jewish. She was OK with him maintaining his Jewish faith and was even willing to agree that they could raise their children as Jews, but she insisted tgat her Christian faith wasn’t negotiable. Ultimately, they broke up and parted ways. My friend told me later that, yes, he could never give up his Jewish faith but that his insistence that she become Jewish was more related to pressures from his family. His own family and community told him that he and his wife and children would never be accepted as long as she was a Christian.
