These cuts would result in a nearly 40% reduction in funding for the National Institute on Aging, which supports most Alzheimer’s research. As progress is finally being made with early detection tools and treatments that can slow Alzheimer’s disease, now is not the time to slash funding. Through my role as Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue to fight for funding to support lifesaving biomedical research.
