While I will support the bipartisan budget agreement, I’m deeply disappointed that it slashes NIH funding by approx. $500M. It’s shameful that Rs would insist on cuts to med research as part of this deal. As a member of the Approps Committee, I'll work to reverse these cuts.

@NIH Perhaps you can have someone look into this, you might find that $500M:

@NIH How much is coming out of the ARPA-H and cancer moonshot boondoggles?

@NIH Thanks for you for speaking up on this, @SenatorDurbin! @NIH is the engine of biomedical discovery, innovation, and training essential to science and our national standing in the world. Keep up the good fight!

@NIH You are disappointed they slashed funding to the NIH? The guys that funded gain of function research I Wuhan? The guys responsible for the covid pandemic? How about resign. There should be investigations tearing the NIH apart to find out who approved that funding to Wuhan.

@TrumpWatchNews @NIH I think Republicans should shove their "deal" Democrats are making a huge mistake negotiating with them.

@NIH Just cut the ePPP Gain of Function work like what likely led to the pandemic.

@NIH We could have cured Alzheimer's with the money spent in Iraq or Afghanistan or Ukraine.

@NIH $100M in missing F35 parts. The money should come from DoD.

@NIH Try forbidding any budget attachments to further Debt Ceiling discussions, Senator Durbin - the nation begs you & your colleagues. There is a time & place for discussing each issue & future spending negotiating should be exclusively handled under the one banner that isn't this.

@dellacooper05 @NIH Blah blah. Stop spending $ we the American people don’t have. You were installed. Peggy Hubbard won
