Not true. The states have agencies that are dedicated to checking the gas pumps to make sure they deliver the correct amount of fuel that they are charging for.

Unlikely. If true, your fuel gage would read 1/2 tank a few minutes after filling up.

Interesting. But every gas station I have seen with red and green pumps, the green ones were for diesel and the red ones were for gasoline. So I would need more than one possible click bait post to convince me this was a real problem.

Local inspectional services here goes out and pumps gas into certified containers to make sure they are pumping what they should.

@RogerBernards Anyone that fills gas cans for their lawn mowers, snow blowers etc knows that this is false. I never see bubbles like this when I'm filling up my gas cans.

I have learned that when it says full there is actually space for two more gallons, if delivered slowly to allow the bubbles to deflate.
