“There’s a song called tomorrow, most people don’t know about it, it’s one of the B-side tracks, and only our fans know about it. I really like that song, because I wrote it in high school. I wrote the beat and stuff when I was a trainee. It was released after we debuted. I actually wrote the melody and the lyrics when I was in hospital, after my appendix burst. The song itself has a hopeful tone. I really love this song. I’m not saying it’s my absolute favourite. But I keep thinking about it.”

Who is a Storyteller? Asake sang, “timing is everything, keep it moving”. When Netflix didn’t renew my Afrobeats documentary, I thought it was the worst timing ever. But I kept it moving. I said let me try this YouTube thing. I dug deep into my archives and realised, the real deep story of Afrobeats is a series of coincidences, timing and luck. And I was right in the centre of it, and recorded it all. This is even deeper than what I gave Netflix.
