If agentic commerce is real, it's BAD NEWS for Amazon $AMZN. I explain why in this video.

Nahh Amazon’s actual infrastructure protects them. Depending on what I’m buying, I won’t use an agent to buy for me if it can’t access Amazon. Period.

Then your take is agentic commerce isn’t real. But the infrastructure doesn’t protect them if it is.

It does to some degree. If Amazon is offering the best deals and prices and delivery times then agents not able to access these … well I mean I’m not going to stop using Amazon … I guess I’ll check both.

You’re insanely off the mark here my guy

$AMZN sues rival agents and ships its own instead

This is not accurate….

You’re going to have to say more for me to take you seriously.

The claim that agentic commerce will disrupt Amazon overlooks its structural moats and evolving business model. Autonomous agents optimize for price, delivery speed, and seamless returns… variables where Amazon’s regional fulfillment network and low cost shipping consistently outperform fragmented Shopify merchants, naturally routing agent purchases back to Amazon. Furthermore, "bots don't click ads" misses the reality of digital marketing: brands will continue paying for visibility, simply shifting ad spend from search bar banners to agent API recommendation tiers, preferred rankings, and native platform integration. Amazon’s underlying retail operations are also far more cost efficient post fulfillment regionalization than isolated margin charts suggest, and blocking unauthorized bots like Meta’s Muse is routine platform governance to safeguard data and force formal commercial access, not a sign of disruption. People need to stop jumping on hype trains before fully understanding businesses…

@TravisHoium price and delivery are the easy optimization. the moat is who still owns the customer after the agent picks the merchant.

You have it completely backwards… So backwards it hurts, jeez. 🤦♂️ Optimizing price and speed in code is easy, physically delivering it tomorrow is a $100B+ moat. Whoever handles the broken package, instant refund, and drop off return owns the customer, not the UI that placed the order.

@jasonfesta The moat is owning the customer. Owning the customer is downstream of customer service/speed. But everything starts with opening the Amazon app before any other app or browser. If that’s gone, the entire model breaks.

You are completely missing it… IMO. Meta will almost certainly have to pay for Amazon’s API access, which takes a portion of Meta’s margin from the Muse product. People never opened the Amazon app for the UI, they opened it because they knew the stuff would actually arrive on their porch tomorrow for free. Fulfillment speed and customer service aren’t an afterthought, they are the exact reason why Amazon’s customer ownership exists. If an agent takes over discovery, it doesn't break Amazon’s model… It just optimizes for the retailer that can reliably execute the physical delivery.

@jasonfesta I’ve laid out my case. Im not “missing” the opposite view. I think it’s incorrect and misunderstands the power of aggregation. We will see.

First of all, nobody can replicate the logistics efficiency Amazon has (cost, lead time, traceability, etc.) having said this, supposing adds businesses are being killed .. then Instagram will be the first victim followed by Google… so $Meta would be killing itself. On the other hand, if Muse is not allowed to $amzn website/app then it makes no sense for the app itself given everybody (or 85% of people) uses amzn for their purchases .

😄 🤣

Raise the price by $1 if it's a bot making the purchase. Doesn't seem to be that big of a disruption.

isn't their moat the delivery?

I’d say google is facing the same issue. I believe Amazon is ready for this transition with x402 integration within AWS Bedrock along with CloudFlare x402 on Coinbase base.

🤔🟩🧐

amazon locking agents just pushes the cart onto shop pay. we hit the other hole first: stock and variants wrong in catalog, agent sold a ghost sku. fixed feed sync before we worried about amazon. you checking inventory truth or just the headline?
