If ASDA has such a problem with those who’ve consumed alcohol scanning their own shopping, why do they insist on the use of self service?

@asda spent nearly £200 & had to scan it herself to be then be humiliated like this. Bring back staff on tills & it would have stopped this awful situation. Would provide an all round better customer service & would stop the increase of thefts. No brainer!

I don't understand what she did wrong, she appears to be stable on her feet like... She isn't crawling around and knocking stuff over. If she isn't causing a nuisance then what's the problem? Honestly just looks like harassment but maybe I'm missing something?

I suspect that the stop was down to the security guard disliking the smell of alcohol for some strange reason. Kinda like that time in M&S when a checkout lady refused to scan bacon, again, for some strange reason. What could the two incidents possibly have in common?
