I’m not saying they are building all these data centers to roll out the social credit scores. I’m just saying I don’t think we need all of these data centers to run ChatGPT, Grok, Claude etc. But if you did want social credit scores, you would need a lot of data centers🤔

I think the fact is there are only going to be four or five of these companies that are able to raise the billions required to build the infrastructure to support these models. It's a global competition, and particularly against the Chinese right now because they're trying to beat us on AI, because the country with the best AI is gonna win all the wars. That's what's gonna happen. I think at the end of the day you want diversification in your portfolio, not just one stack. For me, I'm playing the picks and shovels. I'm building energy because you need energy for this stuff, and I'm building data centers. Now, there are different things, but right now we need more electrical power in this country beyond just data centers. We just need power because we got a booming economy.

I think the fact is there are only going to be four or five of these companies that are able to raise the billions required to build the infrastructure to support these models. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us, 'It's coming, you adapt.' What are they talking about? Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when people have no jobs? Make housing free?"

I ask myself, “What do I buy that is really the picks and shovels? And what do I buy that is actually a direct ownership of the tech equivalent to, let's say a stable coin or Bitcoin itself?" My conclusion has been if I wanna play the long-term, the next five years or even 10 years in AI, I need to own data centers. I need to own real estate where data centers are built. I need to own power contracts that power the data centers. I've seen this movie so many times before, once you convinced as an investor that this is gonna be here for a while.

SpaceX is in some ways the most important defense contractor in America. What he's doing with Starlink is amazing for the world. He's creating all of these blue collar manufacturing jobs which is a goal of a lot of liberals and good for America. He's done more than any living human to decarbonize the world. Flapping Airplanes co-founder Asher Spector explains why data efficiency is the greatest bottleneck to AI adoption: "To the extent that AI has been hard to integrate into the economy, I really think it's because models are much less data-efficient than humans. If you want it to learn a new task, or put it in a new vertical, it takes thousands of times more effort than it does to just tell a human what to do." "If you can make a model a million times more data-efficient, it's a million times easier to put into the economy. There's a ton of cool stuff that you can do in really data-constrained regimes. For example, whether it's robotics, or scientific discovery, or even something like trading, these problems have very limited data, and existing AI systems aren't quite as good at them as they are at other things. I think that learning to learn with less data is just tremendously valuable in all of these domains."

So if you look at what was attempted by Iran, it was to knock out the data centers in various countries in addition to energy. So what do you need to fight tomorrow's war? Let's, let's say the Chinese wanna take over Singapore. That's pure AI. You're gonna use drones. We know that already. They're very effective, low cost. You're gonna take out data centers, chip manufacturing. When you start to think about investing, and that's what I'm thinking about, I hate warfare obviously, but what does this tell me? The country with the most capacity for data centers and AI, is going to win the wars in the future.
