Comparing to Dragon Ball Evolution is a bad faith comparison because Dragon Ball Evolution felt like someone who didn't watch Dragon Ball or only saw 1 episode and then made a movie around that which was horrible and inaccurate while OPLA shows that it has love for One Piece

I know this is engagement bait but I'll bite. Dbz evolution didnt even need pacing because they created their own plot which is essentially a copy pasted 2008 high school musical trope. They unironicly did everything wrong, it should be studied for decades. OPLA depaite cringe acting tries its hardest to stay within the stories narrative. Its why casuals love it because they get lore drops, and onr piece fans get a hit of nostalgia with some fresh air. You cannot compare evolution, where the producers and directors never even watched the series. Any true one piece enjoyer can at least understand the story is trying its best to relay the actual plot of one piece to draw in fans. "They're ruining the pacing" You're insane man, one pace is popular because one piece is a pacing nightmare. Its so big of an issue that theyre remaking one piece to fix it. I have a lot of gripes with certain parts of OPLA and I could be here all day dumping my woes about it. But if you zoom out, and take it for what it is... its an enjoyable passion project to spread one piece to average non anime fans. I dont think it deserves a 9.9/10 but honesty, its a 7 for me. Enjoyable with plenty of flaws; but its actual rage bait to compare it to .01/10 dragon ball evolution.
