If Govt is serious about halting extinctions then developments on Ramsar listed wetlands can't go ahead. The Toondah Harbour application is on Tanya Plibersek desk waiting for a decision. We need decisions that protect Nature, incl. endangered species like Eastern curlews.

If you want to learn more about a couple of the extraordinary migratory birds that spend part of the year at Toondah Harbour: Eastern curlew Bar-tailed godwit

@tanya_plibersek “Environmental laws are broken” - yes they are, but you’re reading from the fake environmentalists’ playbook. Never criticising population & economic growth. We see you.

@tanya_plibersek Now come to FNQ and see what’s going on here to koala, greater glider & rock wallaby habitat. And red goshawk, wedge-tailed eagle habitat.

@tanya_plibersek So glad you’re revealing this Sen Pocock. We in Bris were so proud when the area was declared a RAMSAR site. Now I’ve lost all respect for Qld state govt for supporting this development. The project’s history features political donations, secret govt agreements & Josh Frydenburg.

@tanya_plibersek The entire planet is made of connected interwoven life systems. You can't smash one without damaging others. Leave it alone Tanya, you're breaking the Earth 🌎

@tanya_plibersek You are a bullshit artist, Dave. Why are we developing natural spaces anywhere? To accommodate our immigration-fed population growth. More people, more development. It is that simple! And they ALWAYS want the best bits! Time to talk immigration & population GROWTH!

@UQ_CBCS @tanya_plibersek I thought we'd moved on from the mentality of treating mangroves as "waste land" & had acknowledged the importance of this environment as a nursery for many young fish & other important animals

@tanya_plibersek If the Toondah Harbour development goes ahead then government cannot be taken seriously!

@tanya_plibersek Funny, the Coorong /Lower Lakes should also be affected by salt water and preserved that way - not by artificial barrages requiring fresh water from the Murray Darling Basin

@tanya_plibersek @DavidPocock for President.
