If Green Lantern can create ANYTHING with his power ring… why didn’t he just make an atomic bomb?

Because Hal’s willpower is strong enough to make giant boxing gloves and roller coasters, but not quite strong enough to sit through a nuclear-physics textbook first.

The ring’s only limit is the user’s willpower and imagination. Hal’s willpower is infinite. His imagination is ‘giant boxing glove go brrrr.’

Because making a nuke requires knowing how a nuke works. Hal’s willpower is elite. His science homework is not.

The ring follows the picture in his head, not a physics textbook.

Green Lantern (2011).

Because the ring only creates what he can actually picture in his head. Hal can visualize giant green boxing gloves, roller coasters, and fighter jets all day. A working atomic bomb requires knowing exact critical mass, implosion geometry, neutron initiators, and timing down to the microsecond.

it builds whatever Hal can hold in his mind with enough focus and detail. He can picture a giant boxing glove or an F-16 because those are things he already understands

He makes the shapes, not their effects 🤦🏻♂️

Then why can't he just make the atomic bombs to resolve everything at once

Its just hard light. He doesnt make toxic chemicals

@BuHarilife same movie (what a bad movie, my god)

@BuHarilife Relax, its not that big of a deal. And yes, i always believed this should be a green flame construct here

Because the ring makes willpower-shaped hard light, not actual uranium-235 with a working implosion assembly. Hal can imagine a giant boxing glove all day. A functioning nuclear weapon requires knowing what the hell you’re doing.

Hal can will a giant boxing glove into existence all afternoon. A working nuclear device would require him to understand the physics well enough to simulate every part correctly

And decimate the whole city he trying to protect? I know you wouldn’t be getting chosen for a ring 😂

lol am just joking

🙏🤝😂

The ring creates what you can actually picture in detail. Hal’s mental blueprint for an atomic bomb is just a big green barrel with “BOOM” written on it.

The ring only builds what you can hold clearly in your head. Hal’s idea of a nuke is basically a green dvstbin with “KABOOM” painted on the side.

This is one of those questions that makes you realize just how broken the Green Lantern power set could be if used without limits.

Hal’s a c0cky test pilot, not a nuclear physicist, so he can’t will a working warhead into existence any more than he can will a functioning F-35 if he’s never studied one.

@iSamsilver The ring makes willpower constructs, not real fissile material or a working detonation. Hal also isn’t the type to solve every fight with a city-killer.

@iSamsilver Hal could fake the look of a b0mb, but it wouldn’t detonate like one and even if it could, he wouldn’t use a city

Green Lantern can fly through space without a spaceship… so what is actually keeping him alive out there? 👀

Imagination without technical literacy limits even god-tier power to basic constructs.

The ring does not grant knowledge. It only translates what the wearer can already hold in their mind with enough precision and will.

Hal really said “I can create anything” and then proceeded to make giant boxing gloves and a roller coaster instead of anything useful.

Hal’s ring runs on willpower and showmanship, not common sense that’s why we got carnival rides instead of anything that would actually end the fight in ten seconds.

@CFC_lova 💯 Even if he could make a construct like the incredible complex nuclear bomb…. It would take him some time. He has made less complex machines before that has taken him many hours to construct. Plus he’s in mid battle.

@CFC_lova Most Green Lanterns aren’t nuclear engineers, and constructing a working fission device mid-fight would take far longer than just hitting the enemy with a giant glowing fist.

That's not how the ring works! In issue #69 of GL Secrets of The Ring they explain this! Constructs are limited to the midi-chlorian count within each Lantern. The higher the count the more complex the construct. Hal Jordan's count is low as a rookie. Read a comic ffs!

Now, let's think about this. Hal Jordan uses a nuke on an alien in the middle of a city, populate or not. 🤔

The ring can make almost anything, but Hal still has to live with the consequences afterwards.

So you would rather he nuke the city?

No but this is just movie not Reality

And you have a 67 IQ

Maybe because there's civilians in the city The idea was to push him away from earth

So you mean civilians can control atomic bombs even after hearing the names alone?

He was even told by another lantern Your constructs are only gonna be strong as your will Yeah at that time he definitely wasnt thinking of a nuke but Thinking how to get that off earth which he used the sun to do so And the sun is much stronger then a nuke hope you know this

Oh now I see

Parallax dead “Downtown Coast City” dead Hal Jordan alive

When he did lose control Parallax, he just levelled Coast City instead.

cs theres a city to save bruh

Oh I know that's the reason he won't be able to do it

Yeah know….lookin at this clip I have a newfound appreciation for this shitty movie because at least they got us with a green suit and him making actual constructs and honestly? I appreciate that shit with how little we’ve been getting anything with GL lately

Because the GL Corps are not authorized to use lethal force because of the laws set by the Guardians in the Book of Oa. The only way a GL can kill using constructs is if the Guardians change those laws. Kinda wish the movie went into that.

And destroy the city? Good plan.

So mean destroying the city is a good plan

If Green Lantern can create ANYTHING with his power ring… why didn’t he just make an atomic bomb?

He can. The problem isn’t power, it’s the job description

You know he made machine gvn with his powers in this movie and we all know atomic b0mb is very harmful l to humans he's trying to protect maybe that's why he didn't do it

He already made a giant minigun . An atomic b0mb just levels the city he’s supposed to save. The ring follows his will, not a de@th wish.

No no no he can't, you have to know HOW TO BUILD IT TO CONSTRUCT IT WITH TYE RINGGG

But I thought Hel can build everything with just a shake of his ring

Nope, in Green lantern the animated series he says something like that, that they can't create what they don't know how to, that's why they're mostly always making circles and bats and cannons and stuff...

It's all round green

Super movie....👍🏻🫶🏻♥️

So super for real

Ring constructs are limited by the wearer's mind and knowledge. To manifest an actual nuclear bomb, the Lantern would need to mentally visualize the precise subatomic physics.

Too many Casualties or a wipe out in most cases

Yeah I thought about that too

Yeah let's beat the Entity of pure fear with a WMD that caused so much fear no one wants to use that shit for over 80 years since its creation.

Collateral damage

Lol never saw that coming

They are called constructs because it's mechanical not chemical.

Another point of view right

The ring makes constructs. An atom bomb needs real atoms that actually want to fall apart. Willpower doesn’t split uranium.

The ring can do more than constructs. Hal’s even said he can split atoms with it. The actual reason he doesn’t just whip up a nuke is that it’s a nightm@re to contain, a massive drain, and a terr!ble idea.

Потому что он не сверхдержава

I'll stream movie after work today

Okay do it well
