Experienced a similar event while flying for the police during a night flight near Holy Island in the UK. Newcastle radar had nothing on their radar but the object was over a mile wide over the sea! One of the cops onboard got very spooked and demanded we land. Watch the skies.

I remember seeing this as a kid in 1977.. i was 7, and it scared the shit out of me then.. well acted too. one of my favorite all time scenes.

There should be a part two to this. Main characters would be the little kid, who is now all grown up. Or Richard Dreyfus’s return to earth.
