It’s a tough position. Let’s remember the decision to release the footage was made. Which officials made the decision to release it?? If Johnson doesn’t coalesce he could set off rioting and violent protest. Secondly, it’s a huge election year - and this tragedy is being weaponized. Seeing that it’s impossible to eliminate excessive force it’s time we move on from the Stone Age and develop new technologies that allow officers to screen vehicles for weapons, so they know before they approach. The new training simulators are a good start but the detaining technology should be on the horizon.
