If MindsEye was actually finished before release. Complete in a sense with an interactable open world, NPCs and interiors like these ones they've added in their latest update, I think it would've been a fantastic game no joke

The open world of MindsEye feels like an empty shell of what could have been. I'm being honest, Redrock is beautiful and it is beautifully designed but that's about it. The fundamental issues of this game like lack of NPCs, activities, bugged out traffic system, limited open world exploration and what is an overall half-baked game results in nothing other than a good looking ghost town. Build a Rocket Boy shouldn't have released this game in this state.

I revisited MindsEye to see if things have improved So far the game still feels like it is on its early alpha stage, you can free roam via Arcadia mode but the open world is shallow and empty, you still do basic things like hijacking cars, like the ones that have NPCs on them because there is probably not an animation for that, you can't even hijack parked cars. Performance is much better though, so I guess that's a plus

Why don't we have this level of NPC density in recent AAA Games? Assassins Creed: Unity was by no means perfect, you can clearly see some NPCs popping into the frame while you're playing and some others not load properly, but it came out in 2014! It was designed on previous-gen consoles that ran on a Hard Drive and it was a game that was so rushed, Ubisoft never bothered to give it the love that it deserved. If there's one thing that still fascinates me about this game even today is the sheer number of NPCs that are rendered into this open world, it simply feels alive. By 2025, you'd think that most AAA game studios would have already gotten over these issues like NPCs popping into the frame and we would have Open World games that feel more alive than ever before. Nope, instead of huge number of NPCs, modern gaming companies are more focused on bringing Ray Tracing features which I have nothing against if it wasn't for having a such a small number of NPCs. I'm not an expert to determine what the exact reason behind having so few NPCs really is but I honestly would love if Ubisoft gave another shot at this kind of tech. Thankfully one of the games that looks like it will have this huge number of NPCs is Grand Theft Auto VI, by the screenshots and Trailers alone, it reminded me of how alive Unity really felt and I can't wait until that game comes out.

MindsEye has a very beautifully designed city and setting. It just sucks that all of this was rushed to death. There's no life to it, no enterable buildings, no activities, just some dull NPCs with nothing to do in it. The vision was always there, but never realized.

Truns out you can actually explore the open world in MINDSEYE with some caveats, during one mission I managed to barely glitch out. So far I've put 2-3 hours in and I haven't been able to free roam because I would immediately get a Mission Failed Screen. You can free roam on foot, but thats basically it. The Redrock City is very detailed and beautiful but it is lifeless as it can get with NPCs barely seen doing anything, reminding me of The UE5 Matrix Awakens Demo.

I'm now starting to lose hope that this game will ever make a comeback

Sleeping Dogs was slept on and hugely underrated. For a game that came out almost 14 years ago, it had a development budget of 30 million dollars and it managed to do such a fantastic job at everything that it had to offer. For starters, this game had a solid story, great character, amazing fighting mechanics with different finishers, parkour, good driving mechanics and small details that some open world games today wont even bother to add. Melee Combat is fantastic, you can grab different objects from the ground and smash NPCs with them or throw at them, this added so much versatility in combat. Finishers are also extremely satisfying, any object that is highlighted in red will guarantee you that you'll get to see one of the most fun ways to finish off an enemy. While driving mechanics were nothing too spectacular, it still offered you a great way to play while driving by having Ramming added to vehicles so you could push other vehicles away while you're being chased, in-game races were also very fun to play in my experience! Its a real shame this game didn't get nowhere near the recognition it deserved because I truly believe if we'd ever gotten a sequel, it would improve upon everything that the first game lacked and it would be an amazing franchise.

I'm playing GTA V on a PS3 and its been such a fun experience. I remember when was a kid and playing this for the first time, I didn't give a damn about how BAD the framerate was during driving. I was constantly in awe by how realistic this game looked back then that the framerate wasn't something that was going to stop me from enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, this game is running on a PS3 that has 256mb of RAM and 256mb of VRAM which is some black magic itself and the fact that Rockstar Games managed to have such a massive open world game with that much traffic and NPCs running in real-time is a feat on its own.

Ubisoft has gained this reputation after years making games that have been bad by current AAA standards and dogshit practices that every time I post Assassin’s Creed BF Resynced content, there has always been a comment or reply asking me “how much did Ubisoft pay you?” To make it clear, I bought this game with my own money and I was never paid to praise or promote it. Resynced has its fair share of serious issues that cannot be overlooked; buying all paid cosmetics costing more than the game itself, the cutscenes being capped to 30FPS or the fact that it requires online connection in the physical disc. All of these are valid issues and criticism that Ubisoft as a company should do better. That being said it, compared to what Ubisoft was making these past few years, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced for the most part is a pretty good video-game imo, they've done an excellent job at remaking the original game. The upgraded visuals make the experience much better, new game mechanics like underwater swimming at any time and the removal of loading screens when docking or boarding is such a welcome feature. They've also done an amazing job at optimizing this game for PC which is quite rare these days for open world games. What are your thoughts?

Fun fact from Red Dead Redemption 2 #5 There were supposed to be sharks in Guarma, but due to development time, this content was inherently cut from the game. However you can still find a shark outside the explorable area in Guarma.
