I once saw a case like this. The family kept saying the dog looked fine so they delayed going to the hospital. When the person started showing those signs, it was already too late. Please do not take any dog bite or scratch lightly. Wash it properly with soap and water for at least 15 minutes and get the anti-rabies injection immediately.

Exactly why speed matters. WHO: once symptoms appear, rabies is fatal in 100% of cases, but it's preventable if care starts early. After any dog bite or scratch, wash the wound with soap and water for at least 15 minutes and get post-exposure treatment the same day.

My friend died two years ago as a result of rebbies. He got bitten by his own dog, unknown to him was bitten by a mad dog. Month later he came down with late sign and symptoms of rebbies which led to his demise. I still cant believe he's gone!

Me writing the list of friends I'll bite after getting rabies

I remember early this year, a very jovial dog we use to say don’t bite was laying down under a chair, I didn’t even know & I didn’t even touch it, i just went close to the chair without knowing the dog was there before I knew it, I was bitten by the dog.
