One statement by H.E. Edwin Wakenya Sifuna during his interview with the late Cyrus Jirongo has stayed with me. He said that for Kenyans to elect the right leaders, the Kenyan voter must first change how they vote. We must ask the hard questions. We must scrutinize those seeking public office. We must vote based on integrity, competence, and values, not empty promises. That is why we do not expect the journey towards the Sifuna Presidency to be easy. We understand the task ahead, and we are determined to keep engaging wananchi, one conversation at a time, on why we believe Sifuna offers a different kind of leadership. Ruto will come preaching that Kibaki served 10 years, Uhuru served 10 years, and therefore he must also be given 10. That argument assumes Kenyans are stupid. We are not. Kibaki earned his second term. Under Kibaki, money circulated. Jobs existed. The cost of living was manageable. Kenyans could breathe. Uhuru earned political patience. Under Uhuru, development was visible across the country roads, infrastructure, projects you could touch and see. Whether you liked him or not, the state was building. Ruto has earned nothing close to that. Under Ruto, life is more expensive, taxes are punitive, and the economy feels like a punishment. The government looks less like a national administration and more like a closed ethnic cartel power concentrated around his tribe, friends, relatives, and loyalists while ordinary Kenyans suffer. This is not leadership. It is capture. It is extraction. It is survival of the connected while the rest are told to “be patient.” Kenya is not a monarchy. Ten years is not a birthright. A term is earned by performance, not demanded by comparison. Ruto will be a one-term president. And after him, Kenya must learn this lesson permanently: No president should ever be allowed to destroy the country for two terms.

“If there is an Olympics of good character and good governance, do you think the Yoruba people will bring President Tinubu?” — Adewole Adebayo, SDP Presidential Candidate. My Thoughts: Kai! 😳 This one is deep — and dangerously uncomfortable. Because the question is not really about the Yoruba people. It is about what we choose to reward, defend and celebrate in our leaders. If there were indeed an Olympics of good character and good governance, what would Nigeria's scorecard look like? And more importantly, would we select our representatives based on their performance and character, or would ethnic loyalty automatically qualify them for the national team? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being proud of one's ethnic heritage. What becomes problematic is when ethnicity becomes a shield against accountability. A Yoruba man does not become a good president simply because he is Yoruba. An Igbo man does not become a good president because he is Igbo. A Hausa-Fulani man does not become a good president because he is Hausa-Fulani. Leadership is not an ethnic inheritance. It is a public trust. The real test is simple: Has the government improved the lives of Nigerians? Has it strengthened institutions? Has it reduced poverty and insecurity? Has it demonstrated prudence, transparency and accountability? Has it given Nigerians reasons to hope? These questions have no tribe. So, perhaps the most uncomfortable question is not whether the Yoruba would “bring” Tinubu to the Olympics. It is this: If the medals were awarded strictly on character, competence and governance outcomes — without ethnicity, religion, propaganda or political loyalty influencing the judges — who would Nigeria actually put on the podium? Kai! Adewole Adebayo has thrown one serious stone into the political hornet's nest. 😂 And judging from the noise already coming from the political stands, somebody must have been hit. My Nigeria must eventually get to the point where we stop asking, “Is he our man?” and start asking, “Is he a good man for Nigeria?” That is when nation-building truly begins.

President William Ruto behaves like a man who forgot he is the president of a republic and now rules like a cornered tyrant obsessed with loyalty, allergic to truth, and terrified of anyone who stands upright instead of kneeling. He has built a country where survival depends on flattering one man. MPs don’t speak for their people anymore they speak to avoid his wrath. Cabinet secretaries don’t defend the nation they defend their jobs. Heads of institutions don’t serve the constitution they serve his mood. And why? Because in Ruto’s Kenya, truth is a firing offense. Tell him what he doesn’t want to hear and you are gone. Disagree with him and you are finished. Expose corruption linked to his loyalists and suddenly you are the problem, not the thieves. That is why EACC is powerless because chasing corruption that touches his allies is treated like chasing him. That is why Office of The Director Of Public Prosecutions moves like a puppet because justice must first seek permission before it takes a single step. A president who fears truth destroys institutions. A president who demands praise destroys accountability. A president who punishes honesty destroys democracy. And that is exactly what we are watching. Ruto is ruling like a man who owns the country, not a man entrusted to lead it. He is acting like Kenya is his personal estate and every institution must bow before him. He has forgotten that a president serves the people not the other way around. This is not leadership. Kenyans have experienced historical injustices where one section of the society has dominated the public service, political and economic landscape for 63 years. They are the modern day "colonial power". They feel entitled and use their politically acquired wealth to fight any president who ascends to the presidency who is not their own or who refuses to be used by them to secure ethnic exclusion of fellow Kenyans. This system has to be dismantled so that Kenya may be for all Kenyans. Raila needs to join Ruto and assist him dismantle this oppressive system.

This is no longer something Kenyans can simply ignore. The CCTV does not lie. The footage shows what happened, his abduction was a police operation. Who took him? Where was he taken? Who was involved? And most importantly, who gave the orders? The disappearance of citizens cannot become normal in Kenya. Families are being left terrified, searching for their loved ones, while those responsible are free walking freely. IG Douglas Kanja, are you a police boss or a Mafia Leader? You are the head of the National Police Service-Kenya . Why do you authorise abductions & disappearances of your fellow citizens The Mlolongo case has exposed a frightening reality that Kenyans have been warning about: that there could be an organised abduction operation involving rogue elements within the security system. If that is not true, prove it. If rogue officers are involved, arrest them, prosecute them and expose the entire network. Because today it is a businessman from Mlolongo. H.E. James Orengo has every democratic and constitutional right to declare his interest in the presidency, and we respect that right. H.E. Edwin Sifuna has always reminded us that we should have many Sifunas, many courageous leaders willing to stand up, speak truth to power and go against Kasongo, so that if one Sifuna is silenced, others can carry the torch. That is the democracy he has taught us to believe in. However the presidency and the people have choosen him as others seem to want to chase the presidency! We also equally have a right to choose and support the leader we believe in. As H.E. George Natembeya put it: Sisi Ndio Sifuna. For us, our preferred presidential candidate is H.E. Edwin Watenya Sifuna and we will support him with our blood, will and strength. Hatukuanza Linda Mwananchi to propel anyone else to be honest. Hii nayo tutasema ukweli. When we say Sifuna has always stood with the people, this is what we mean. I haven’t been in politics for long, but one thing I’ve already learnt is that it takes a different kind of politician to say uncomfortable truths, even when those truths may not be music to the ears of those in power. Too many politicians become people-pleasers once they get close to their bosses. They agree, they applaud, they follow. But Sifuna has repeatedly shown that his loyalty is not to an individual, it is to the people and to the cause. Even when it was Raila Odinga, his position remained clear: Ruto must go. Having lived in the United Arab Emirates, I have witnessed firsthand how a nation can achieve remarkable transformation by channeling its energy into development. The UAE has built world-class infrastructure, diversified its economy, and elevated the quality of life for its people — all with limited emphasis on electoral processes. Their model demonstrates that when governance is anchored in delivery and efficiency, citizens benefit directly. For Zimbabwe, the message from Marondera is instructive. Communities are calling for reliable water supply, modern infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. These are the foundations of dignity and prosperity.
