Homelessness and the housing crisis are not two different problems, they are two sides of the same coin. And they have the same solution – permanent affordable housing. Trickle down economics is a fallacy. The market cannot provide affordable housing. Prices are only going up, driving people into homelessness, or out of the city entirely. Rae will build social housing on public lands and speed up housing production citywide, cutting red tape while keeping in place tenant and homeowner protections to ensure that people are able to keep their homes. This is what it looks like when a train is forced to push through an active wildfire zone. Footage from train engineers near Armstrong, Ontario — the same area under evacuation orders right now. The sky is blood orange. Flames are visible outside the windows. One engineer says: “We’re encased in flames now.” Another: “This is getting a little scary.” These crews are trying to keep critical rail lines moving while the forest burns on both sides of the tracks. This is northwestern Ontario in July 2026. And while Canadian infrastructure and workers are literally surrounded by fire, our government keeps writing billion-dollar cheques to the same foreign countries on repeat — money that will take generations to recover, if it ever does. Where are the water bombers? Where is the serious investment in forest management and rapid response? Where is the priority on actually protecting Canadian land, Canadian communities, and Canadian workers? They have endless money for everyone else. But when our own forests are burning and our own people are in the middle of it? We get the same old story: underfunded resources, slow response, and politicians who treat domestic disasters like an afterthought. This isn’t just bad luck with the weather. However, due to earlier violations and disregard for rules, the Supreme Court delivered its verdict, and the demolition action is being carried out under its orders. Every dollar borrowed today is a burden dumped on the shoulders of our kids and grandkids, with interest. Right now, we’re paying $27 billion a year just on interest. You are not angry 😡 enough like Sam here.. Groceries up $900 for the average household. 27% higher than five years ago. Meanwhile the government just handed another $900 million to Palestine. Canadians get a measly $30 “rebate.” Families get a couple hundred. That’s the priority?? Mass numbers still coming in who don’t share the culture, don’t sing the anthem, and don’t pay into the system that they benefit from. Then we’re told we need even more “population replacement” to fix the labour market they broke. Carney skips the big trade meetings and jets off to Saudi while we lose billions. This isn’t new. It’s Trudeau 2.0 with better suits. The only thing that actually moves the needle is showing up at city hall and making local politicians fear losing their seats. Central City News is a Republican ran news paper in Baton Rouge and they are saying the quiet part out loud. They believe they can elect a white Republican as mayor because the Black voter turnout is so low. They are looking at the same data I shared last week. I’ve been telling you the numbers because the power is there for us to make the difference. I believe you seeing this is important. It shows you the thinking of people who are voting Republican in this community think about you not voting. They see it as an opportunity. If voting didn’t matter, why are they breaking records to show up? The person in the mayors office determines what policing in your city looks like, they determine the budget priorities of the city, they set the agenda for where things are going. Everything we don’t have, is because we aren’t engaging at the numbers we need to. You can’t change a city, with only 30% of the majority population showing up to vote. Baton Rouge can be so much better, we have to show up for better to happen. Take the 5 minutes to listen and then take 10 more to text your people and encourage them to go vote tomorrow. We can prove them wrong. Louisiana is not a red state, it’s an under funded, low voter participation state. Show up for yourself tomorrow, that’s how we make people pay attention and invest so we can see the change we desire. Share, tag, and engage your people. And go vote!
