If you thought we were done with View Transitions, guess again! Chrome is working on “Scoped View Transitions” which allow you to scope a VT to a subtree of the DOM. This unlocks things like concurrent VTs and prevents layering issues. Thread on 🦋:

Future CSS && UI Tip! ⚡️ You could use View Transitions to create those word carousel-type effects 😍 span:nth-of-type(2) { view-transition-name: swap; } ::view-transition-old(swap) { animation-name: slide-down; } ::view-transition-new(swap) { animation-name: slide-up; } How To 1. Create a paragraph split into spans 2. Set an interval in JavaScript that swaps out the accent word 3. Set a view-transition-name on the accent word and the last span Then you've got a responsive word carousel with View Transitions 🤙 Words and inspiration from work louder®'s home page. MAHER: “Is there anything you’re going to say California was too far left on?” “Because I feel like if you don’t, I think a lot of the country is not going to listen.” NEWSOM: “I think there’s a lot of things, you know, I’ve said this in the past, things I could have done better.” “I look at back at Covid. We just put out 1000 pages of what we’ve done right or wrong during Covid as it relates to the issues of outdoor and beaches being shut down, schools being shut down for too long…” “On the issue of housing and homelessness, what we could have done more aggressively sooner.” “But on social issues, where I think you tend to be leaning towards, I’ve also… I’ve made my point of view known as it relates to issues of sports and trans sports.” “Which, I just think it’s not being transphobic… to be common sense.”

We are going to do some integrating of evolutionary biology with some of the value we got from the graduate level education we were put through during COVID.
