Do you have any videos you'd recommend to fix this?

I've been thinking of making more videos on it to help if people are interested

Yes please! 😭🙏

But I love when @MandyMayStreams gets cut off mid scream

@MandyMayStreams LOLOL trueeeee

I never knew about that;^; I just use it since I always think I am too loud also CHEESE SLAP

AHHH

You been hit with cheese you are now my friend >:D

Just some advice. If your goal is to stop your mic from peaking or getting too loud, you shouldn't be using a noise suppressor for that. Noise suppressor's are intended to lower background noise. What you should be using is a limiter. A limiter caps the allowed Db threshold.

I'm just so bad at audio adjusting help 😭😭😭

I've been thinking of doing more of these if everyone would like it!

I only have noise suppression on because my pc is in the same room as my bedroom and my fiancé and our roommate is hanging out in here a lot which I don’t mind. But I have the nvidia studio noise suppression on

Ooh I see. Is it automatic or do you set the level yourself

You can set your own level

I think you're on about the AI Noise Suppression like Nvidias and Elgatos? Normal Noise Suppression is a noise gate where you tell it where your voice enters and cuts off when you stop, the AI voice focus etc are notorious for this as they don't recognise distortion very well

I had a clip ruined on twitch because it muffled my screams. It was soooo funny but the muffling ruined it!

In my experience, using NVIDIA for noise suppression tends to be better since you can adjust the intensity. Anything above 0.90 will cut my voice, but at the same time I have to keep it above 0.70 or my stream will hear every single motorcycle or dog barking on the streets.

Noise suppression is for more quiet sounds like keyboard or mouse, for loud stuff you should use a limiter so it doesn't go into red and stays in yellow

I need specifics. I don't even know where to find adjusting the physical gains on my mic.

Discord also uses the same dog shit noise cancellation lol. Its why I use a bunch of filters to prevent the cutoffs.

Oh yea I turn off all the discord filters lmao

This public service announcement has been brought to you by the talented Neko Mikki. Thanks Neko 🥰👍🎶🎶

Haha any time!

i need the noise supression not for me, but for my 4 doggos and my brother's kid that likes to come visit.. i dont want her voice to be heard at all.

with a XLR mic u don't need a noise suppression at all it doesn't even pickup my mechanical keyboard

That's awesome! Yea this is just advice for those who do have the cutoff issue

that's not really an option for me, I don't think I have to worry about external noise all the time, and the noise suppression is the only way that I can get rid of it without periodically going mute while talking myself

The editor cooked, would love to check out their work if they have socials! 😌

💗💗💗💗💗

Unfortunately my dogs and family are loud, tis the only way, but this is probably good advice to share!

Ahh I see. You need the automatic level to adjust to their noise which is totally fair. That's ok you can make it work if you have to!

Omg, thank you and here I thought it was my mic going crazy. 😭

Yup! This is spot on. And also, if someone is worried about getting to loud at times, slap a compressor or limiter on there instead! That’s what they’re made for!

Он пропадает и обрывается, потому что у меня жопу рвёт блять

use equalizer apo, then add the rnnoise (the same as obs) and open panel, there you can adjust levels for noise suppression and control when it cuts your voice

Facts! Gain structure is the critical starting point to good audio. I come more from the live sound environment, and the amount of times I've been called in for systems that were unstable, the most common cause was poor gain structure.

I figured it out on my end, I just use Voicemod for extra bass and compression, fidgeting with the options a bit and i'm happy with what i got. Only advice i'll say is, Don't use voicemeeter with voicemod, it will make any word starting with "S" sound like nails on a chalkboard. Unless someone has some good options for those combinations.

sadly, i need it as i have fans (2 bc uk) and a rain sound that is on all the time for my autim to chill (other wize i get rage way to fasted)

i use filters in obs on my mic, (not noise suppression specifically though) although i am on windows so it might be different. my mic never cuts out because on windows it’s at 70% volume, plus i have a limiter as an effect in obs.

Mac input settings?!? Am I not the only vtuber on a Mac T^T

I'm not sure about Mac but your streaming software should have either the same or similar plugins. Plus your mics settings will not be affected!

Oh no I just meant the video showing the sound settings on the computer was Mac.

Oh omg I'm so sorry I misread hahaha

Ive been trying to figure out how to fix that issue forever lol 😆

wait.. so I do or don't want noise supression..?

You can still use it if you want but you don't want auto noise suppression. Me personally, I was able to treat my room and adjust my settings to where I don't need it at all

alright thanks! wording was a lil confusing for me~ I've been trying to fix this peaking issue for so long 🙏

Ah of course! Good luck and I hope it helps!
