If you’re someone who gets their hand path too deep in the backswing, doing rehearsals in front of a wall is a great way to neutralize that. Recreate the bad move, and then feel the difference by avoiding contact with the wall. Arm plane will get higher/less behind you 👍

Great drill if wingspan is greater than height. Otherwise, awful drill. Shouldn’t you mention that?

Would you agree that when hand path is too deep for an average or worse golfer, the culprit is often from a flat shoulder plane, which comes from not being able to maintain enough forward bend and not adding enough lead side bend in the backswing?

I’d say that’s a common trait of beginners/higher handicaps, sure. It’s also often due to a poor hinge and the hands follow the weight of the club inside

What if you’re too steep?

I dunno - that vertical a backswing can cause its own problems @bhughesgolf What say you?

This was a game changer for me. Took my swing from a 1 to +3 handicap. Will take sometime to get used to

Thanks for the tip! Rehearsing in front of a wall is totally my idea of fun 🙄😅 #notreally #golflife #highfive

In first takeaway, would your shoulders be considered flat on the turn? Would getting lead shoulder pointed at ball accomplish much of same effect of 2nd takeaway?

Any good drills to get shallow on the downswing. My trainer mentioned the waiter and plate drill?

My last YouTube video a few posts down.
