Microsoft makes software just good enough for the masses. Apple makes software for creative and passionate users.

And few years later MS bailed them out. Entire generation of computer literate people wouldn't be there if his aesthetically superior 1000 times expensiver applications would be the only option. It's a way to look cool for hipsters to use a Mac now. MS is the king.

Quite a dated criticism.

Them grabbing opportunities probably true in the 80s and 90s but they missed the bus with Web 1.0 and Smartphone revolution. And then half-assing it with Nokia acquisition. Thankfully got it right with the cloud and stayed relavant.

The clarity and conviction of Steve is something to aspire to. Give credits where it’s due, and objectively point out the deficiencies through a practical lens.

If MS wasn't there half of the earth population would have never been able to learn computers. Apple (Macintosh) would have made it impossible to afford. Presently you jave to sell kidney to buy an iPhone, imagine what it would have cost for a Computer without MS.

Might be true then, but Microsoft has come a long way and it has grown out of that phase. Microsoft Teams is really a great team collab application. The Windows 10 and 11 OS are far better and stable compared to their previous counterparts. Azure is reliable and feature rich.

Not entirely true, I think. Windows OS is a genuine and creative innovation, so is .NET, Word, Excel, Visual Studio, etc. I think MS must stick to just system software and tooling, and leave the application tier to others.
