Sorry about so many updates, but this is happening so fast that I want to stay on top of it in real time. The signature that we are seeing on satellite is extremely concerning. If it doesn't fade away in another hour or so, let's give it till 10:00 PM Eastern Time, then we need to start looking at whatever really crazy model runs are out there that initiate this storm somewhere in this small area where this convective blow-up is and then ramp it up really quickly, because there's a decent chance that that model run could be correct.

Opus 4.5 (new model from Anthropic) can do something no model could do until now: It can close the design loop. This is (in my testing) the first model that can reliably do the visual loop of Generate Code ⇛ Render ⇛ Look at it ⇛ Improve. Step 3 (Visual critique) has been a real problem for so long. Models will be myopic or defensive when reviewing designs - it's been hard to tell if this has been a training or a vision problem. Opus 4.5 seems to have fixed it - it's not amazing, but it finally *can* do it. Claude models have historically (once again, in my testing) lagged behind in terms of visual understanding. Gemini for the last year has been the best - but there might be a new leader.

The ElevenLabs music model is super impressive (or I had extraordinary luck in my first few generations): It's able to generate obscure styles that the other models overfit, i.e. "1990s deep house" tends to otherwise get overfit as "EDM", which sounds like trash. This is *great* - check out my generated track below:

I don't think there's a single franchise out there that has been as consistently mishandled as Halo. Like it gets to a point that it's almost impressive in a way, if it weren't so sad. It sucks to see the trend setter become the trend chaser, losing it's identity and just trying to be whatever is popular at the time. I don't think we'll ever get this back again. There really is something to be said for series like Dark Souls that know when to end.
