I generally agree with your points here... But I have to correct that Hitler was not a fascist. He was a national socialist. They were separate, but similar, totalitarian ideologies, like all socialist ideologies.

Hitler wasn't a fascist, he was a socialist. The clue is in the name of the party he was a member of. National Socialist German Workers Party. Doesn't sound very fascist to me.

You're right of course. I think for some people just screaming out the word or typing Nazi at someone makes them feel morally superior. I truly don't think they know what it means at this point. I think when we try to argue against this stuff we miss the fact that for a lot of people these words are incantations. They say them and feel morally righteous. The other problem is that after being called a Nazi, there's really nothing worse to call someone. It's the most evil someone can be. Flattens the moral universe.

This is still vague on the philosophy of fascism. You listed attributes, but those can come with monarchism, communism or any other totalitarianism. Fascism is about the will or greatness of a peoples manifest in a leader/race/nation claiming it’s destiny.
