I’m afraid the Kilmarnock player is most certainly getting to that ball. It lands only a few yards in front of him from where he falls and twice the distance to the edge of the area.

Karmelo Anthony is getting TORN TO PIECES 💥 during his trial‼️ He should’ve tried to take a plea deal or something because this is getting ridiculous. His claims of self defense and being afraid for his life/safety are getting blown apart by every witness that takes the stand. You can’t claim that you feared for your safety but refused to leave an area where you weren’t supposed to be even after being asked to leave 15 times. Telling someone… “Touch me and find out” …is provoking them. You can’t claim to be afraid and to be defending yourself while at the same time instigating and provoking a conflict. If Karmelo was afraid and really thought he was in danger he had every opportunity in the world to separate/distance himself from that danger. But Karmelo wasn’t afraid. Karmelo was looking for trouble. Karmelo knew he wasn’t in danger. Karmelo knew that he was the real danger and the only one with a weapon.

We can obviously question the "spirit" of how the rules are applied here, but since technology allows us to detect even the slightest micro-touch of the ball, we might as well use it. 🤯 HOWEVER, the main aspect of this decision to analyze is the subsequent header deflection by Veiga. Indeed, two questions arise here (in relation to the Laws of the Game): - Was it a "deliberate play" on his part or not ? If it is deliberate, he plays the Croatian player behind him onside. If it is not, offside should be called. - Was it a save ? (i.e., "preventing or attempting to prevent the ball from going into or very close to the goal"). If it is a save, then offside must be called. According to the Laws of the Game: "The following criteria should be used, as appropriate, as indicators that a player had control of the ball and, as a result, can be considered to have 'deliberately played' the ball: - The ball had travelled from distance and the player had a clear view of it; - The ball was not moving quickly; - The direction of the ball was not unexpected; - The player had time to coordinate their body movement, i.e. it was not a case of instinctive stretching or jumping, or a movement that achieved limited contact/control; - A ball on the ground is much easier to play than a ball in the air." In the modern era of football, there has NEVER been a player who impacted a higher percentage of the game at an elite level the way he does. We’ve never seen it before and if we ever see it again it will be because of him. I’m incredibly confident that the people tasked with identifying the MOST OUTSTANDING player in college football will recognize that and reward him with the Heisman Trophy this week. At the Masters golfing legend, and former pupil of our mentor Leslie King, Gary player said that the ball is now flying too far and needs to lose around 50 yards. He stressed that this was only in the professional game and that the amateurs should continue making the game as playable as possible by continuing with current equipment. A few weeks ago we ran a little test using a 1.62 Dunlop 65 from 50 years ago against a modern 1.68 ball. Today Phil tries out a McGregor Tourney Driver from the early 70s, considered the gold standard of the time. Phil is a former Tour player, not so young anymore but still averages a drive of 280 yards…

Damn it, the moment Brahim went down I knew Arda would take it. It was at the perfect distance. It was only a matter of time he would score a freekick. To do it against Bayern, at the Allianz, against Neuer even better. But I’m really PROUD of what he’s done this season and how he’s adapted into the team. I think coming from Türkiye the situation is even harder, a lot of expectations and pressure on his shoulders. But after scoring a goal like this the first thing he does is running to the bench to celebrate with all his team mates, with the coach, with the staff, this is what makes him the most special. He never forgets where he came from. He doesn’t care about nog winning the player of the match, all he wants is to win titles with his TEAM.
