I'm assuming it's an age thing... but I might be wrong 🕘🤔

@5am1am_6 10 of 2 makes no sense to me. "10 til 2" or "10 past 2" are acceptable.

@5am1am_6 1:50 People can't even read analog clocks anymore.

@5am1am_6 Who the fuck says 10 of 2 🤣🤣

@5am1am_6 10 min til 2 and its a southern thing. In the north its 10 til 2

@5am1am_6 This is the secret code for when us old farts meet. It’s written in cursive too. They will never find us.

1:50. Guess I was raised in a different generation. Telling time was essential to not getting your ass whooped when I was a youngin. When mama said be home by a certain time. You had better be walking in the door at that certain time. Me and all my friends got watches for Christmas once we hit 12. Wasn’t meant to be a gift. Was meant as a saving grace.

@5am1am_6 I have to think about it. I'll get back to you at half past.

@5am1am_6 @VeBo1991 It’s 1:50 — they don’t seem to teach kids anything other than they can be a million different genders!!!

@5am1am_6 Bless your heart....It's 10 of 2. 😁

@5am1am_6 1:50. Obviously. Although I say 10 “to “ two. A quarter to two is 1:45. Quarter past two is 2:15. For those of us who grew up in the analog era.

@5am1am_6 I get it. Had this same conversation with a friend recently. Children today don’t know. I grew up with aunts saying half past, quarter past……old school. I sure miss them 🫶🏻

@5am1am_6 10 of 2 means 1:50. Who doesn’t know this and how were you deprived of even a rudimentary education?

@5am1am_6 NEVER EVER HAS TIME BEEN TOLD LIKE THIS. You're just making shit up now

@5am1am_6 The common core curriculum stopped teaching it and also stopped teaching cursive and penmanship. Many teens don’t have a signature.

@5am1am_6 10 mins off 2pm 1:50pm. Its in the wording

@5am1am_6 I’ve lived in the South most of my life. If you said 10 of 2 that would to me mean ten minutes of two o’clock or ten after two. Ten til two would be 1:50

@5am1am_6 It IS an age thing! I was shopping online for an analog alarm clock, and the maker had a resources tab which contained a link to a YouTube video that gave a very detailed explanation about how to read an analog clock face. Kinda like the dying art of cursive handwriting.

@5am1am_6 1:50 @grok what time is ten of two?

@5am1am_6 10 aft 2? Like in 10 after 2? It doesn’t sound like “till”. It also sounds like “of”, but I’m not sure that’d make sense 😂 She was smart and chose “2” deliberately. If it were 10 aft 4 or 10 aft 6, it would be easier to get if there’s a “t” from aft(er) or if it’s just “of”.😂

@5am1am_6 She didn't say 10 till 2 she said 10 of two which means 2h 50m

@5am1am_6 It's 13:50.

@5am1am_6 But they mostly think that a quarter of an hour is 25 cents. STUPID.

@5am1am_6 It's 1:50. I had never heard this until I was twelve. It had always been 10 to 2.

@5am1am_6 10 of 2 is technically not grammatically sound. It is a regional/dialectical thing. 10 to 2 is standard.

@5am1am_6 It means 10 minutes until 2 1:50 means the same thing, but it doesn’t tell how long until the next hour.

@5am1am_6 It’s 1:50. It’s an age thing. Kids aren’t taught nowadays. That went out the window with writing in cursive.

@5am1am_6 10 of 2 logically would be ten after two?

@5am1am_6 Its geographical. Im from Appalachia we would say 10 til 2 or 10 after 2 which ever. My friend from Philadelphia says 10 of 2

@5am1am_6 Same with a reference day... we were taught the next Saturday means not this Saturday but, the next one. My husband corrects me and says,No, the next Saturday means this Saturday coming. I told him then, just say Saturday.

@5am1am_6 1:50. Sad the things that people are not taught. I guess if there’s ever another civil war, I think the old would win over the young.

@5am1am_6 1:50

@5am1am_6 I’ll tell my grandkids we’re eating at quarter after 4 and they look at me like I’m speaking in tongues. Or quarter til (insert time). I said it was half past 8 one time and my granddaughter thought I was teasing her. 🥴

@5am1am_6 @TheGrayRider 10 til 2 means 1:50 in the AM or PM if using a 12 hour clock.

@5am1am_6 Perhaps it’s more regional… 10 of 2 doesn’t at least for me make sense. 10 after 2 or 10 till 2 does…

@5am1am_6 We all know what it means. …these people can’t tie their shoes, since Velcro. 🫤
