This was easily one of my favorite conversations I’ve had on a platform in a long time. This conversation could’ve went for about another hour. There was a lot of laughter and even more life experience being exchanged. Here’s a small blurb of me talking about what it was like to go back to Ohio State Football after 20yrs and my love for Ryan Day because he helped to facilitate it. Coach Day has my loyalty for life. I know what it feels like to have the world turn on you and all you wish you had was a friend in the storm. I’m that friend my dawg. I’m from Youngstown. It’s how we are built and how we roll. Thx again to my dawg… @dawgfacetvpodcast …. We always joke but the conversation is always fruitful when we speak. 🫡

This is a leader of men I’m speaking about, and that right there is not a trait that is easily found in men. So, for him to have it so young and him to recognize what he has in front of him, it speaks volume. Like I said, the fun thing is that he can make any throw. That’s what you wanna see and he does it very easily.”

Our mainstream culture is conflict-avoidant. There is the assumption that the less conflict there is in a relationship, the better it is. I disagree. If there is real intimacy, conflict is actually unavoidable. Because we are all different. The real indicator of health in a relationship isn’t the lack of conflict, it is the quality of our repair. It is the level of authenticity we can bring. That requires knowing how to be with conflict and disagreement, how to hold nuance. And it also requires practicing the art of repairing. Are we willing to show up and repair what we broke? Do we have the skills and capacity required for that? Avoiding conflict means avoiding truth and therefore avoiding real intimacy. This work is essential and transcends the personal. If we aren't capable of dealing with conflict in our own personal lives, it is no wonder that the world is in the state it is, where the most prevalent conflict management strategy is escalation.

You just had to be there for ‘W.I.T.C.H.’ — one or Jetix’s best shows ever. There’s a special bond for those of us who watched the series while it was on the air & collecting the comics. The TV show was unfortunately cancelled way too early, as it was handled poorly by Disney and it could have gone for at least another season, however the comics ran for 139 issues up until 2012. I’d argue it has aged better than its contemporaries and that it was ahead of its time. Did you have any of the magazine issues?
