oh gosh im so dumb! thanks jhey ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ! this is better ngl. in my prev impl i was trying to make the effect using css `translate-z` to create depth, perspective on container, and varied circle sizes. in this implementation, it uses 2D X/Y translation only. no Z-axis for the rings.

There is a massive advantage to hiring young people, and Shopify was the first company to figure it out, says Pragmatic Engineer's Gergely Orosz. "Shopify's Head of Engineering Farhan Thawar told me that he saw something interesting years back. Shopify was so early to AI. They got Copilot licenses for everyone, with no cost limit. But they didn't see many teams using it." "But there was this one team that was using it a lot more. There was an intern on the team. They onboarded the intern and gave the intern his two-week task and the intern was done in a day. And they're like, 'How did you do that?' He's like, 'Oh well I just used AI? What's next?'" "And suddenly the people on the team felt stupid, right? So they started to learn from the intern and use AI." "The next thing Farhan did was hire an intern for every single Shopify team. This is why Shopify had a thousand interns."

A HUGE shout-out to Jarlan Perez for leading the effort, as well as members of the RTFKT Engineering and 3D teams for their work on this.

While we are still refining the details, we will routinely share in-progress updates with folks on our various channels. Pre-orders will open on April 4, 2024 We are working to ship in Fall 2024 2024 is going to be the year of the Knob.
