When they are in the water, it's easy to see why people mistake muskrats for beavers. Both are semi-aquatic rodents that are brown and furry. Out of the water, you can clearly spot their differences. Muskrat: Skinny tail. Small in size. Pointy face. Good at scritches.

Video by K. Theule/ USFWS Video description: A small muskrat rodent sits at the edge of a wetland. It grooms its fur and scratches its body. A marsh wren bird makes chirping sounds in the background.

A beautiful sight in long pond in Pippy park St.John’s Newfoundland and Labrador Canada 🇨🇦. The fox and coyotes are enjoying them as well.

@DrKatfish When I played this video my dog immediately leapt up from his nap and ran to the kitchen window, expecting to see a squirrel to bark at. (this is a warning to anyone else who has a sleeping dog next to them who decides to play this without headphones)

This reminds me of when my then 3- year old son exclaimed “I’m not a Kiki, I’m a William!” ☺️

Nope. But a popular guest at the Beaver B&B!

Beaver: Ya’, and…… Muskrat: Just chattin’. Just chillin’.. Beaver: “See you tomorrow”? Muskrat: Uh, ya, of course… 🤣

They do be sayin that

Tail's the real giveaway.

Muskrat..love
