There’s another variable you didn’t remove. Perhaps guys vs girls have something to do with it. Girls would generally put more effort taking pics vs boys and you are one handsome man!
I'm totally that Asian woman and I will never, never, cross your space when someone is taking your picture. I would be more than happy to help take your pics and direct your great shots.
