Imagine if a documentary crew had been embedded with Oppenheimer, Fermi, and other scientists in the 1940s, watching history unfold in real time. Capturing the awe, the hope, the breakthroughs, and the world-changing decisions as they happened. We can’t travel back to the first Atomic Age. But we can be there for the second one. Right now, a new nuclear renaissance is quietly coming into existence. The technology, the visionaries, the political will, and the existential stakes are all colliding at once… and almost no one is telling the full story. Until now. I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I’m co-creating a multi-year epic documentary series called The Last Renaissance, together with award-winning director Tyson Culver. We’re gaining unprecedented, real-time access to the brilliant founders, new reactor designs, daring entrepreneurs, and the key players inside government who are rewriting humanity’s energy future. This is a civilization-level turning point that could reshape climate, geopolitics, prosperity, and even space exploration for the next century. This is the kind of story that only comes around once in a generation. I feel profoundly lucky to be in the room where it’s happening. And if you feel the call, if you’re as electrified by this moment as we are, we want you with us. Whether you’re an investor, a scientist, an engineer, a policymaker, or simply someone who believes this renaissance deserves to be witnessed by the world… Join us. The Atomic Age 2.0 is already underway. Let’s make sure the world doesn’t miss it.

📍Well would you look at that. This was Senator Graham not so long ago. ▪️“The YPG element is integrated with the PKK, just read their manifesto.” ▪️“There is lots of evidence about the YPG-PKK link.” ▪️“The US created the YPG problem and it needs to fix it, we owe it to Turkey, we created a problem for Turkey.” ▪️“It was a dumb idea to rely on the YPG, it proved to be a dumb idea, I saw this coming a long time ago.” ▪️“Obama did a huge mistake in relying on the YPG Kurds.” ▪️“We’ve got to make sure that Turkey is protected from this threat in Syria.” ▪️“I agree with Turkey that this is the dumbest idea in the world.” ▪️“We’re arming people inside Syria aligned with a terrorist group.” I wonder what has changed. If you’re so worried about that “huge mistake” that was made and the “dumb idea” Obama came up with, there you go, that mistake has now been fixed by the Syrian government which is busy cleaning up your mess after you, you’re welcome. If you’re worried about the threat to Turkey, there you go, the threat is about to largely disappear, at least in Syria. And it sure seems odd that you’re now suddenly worried about the well-being of an organization which you have repeatedly acknowledged to be an offshoot of a terrorist group recognized by the US as such. You once seemed worried about having created a problem for Turkey and now you’re really complaining about Turkey being involved in the process in Syria, which by the way is a direct matter of its national security? The very national security, that you acknowledged to having endangered by arming the YPG? Nothing you say makes any sense. Especially since it makes you look like you support a terror group. After all it was you who said that the YPG is linked to the PKK with lots of evidence confirming it.

**Y'all, we need to have a real talk about what's happening in the North Carolina mountains after Hurricane Helene.** . First off, if you have family or friends up there or headed that way, *please* let them know looting is on the rise. Just yesterday, a sheriff told me to make sure anyone out there is carrying—*with the safety off.* These folks aren’t all bad—they’re desperate, because in some of these communities, there’s no water. When people are desperate, they do desperate things. . I’ll say it plain: the government ain't coming to save us. Not now, not ever. It’s us, the citizens, who have to step up. And let me tell y’all, my community—just over an hour away—showed up. They brought water, diapers, formula, bleach, vinegar, and more to our donation sites. We’re taking even more donations today, and I'm making sure they go straight to the hands of volunteers I trust. . Why? Because people told me, “Leigh, we don’t trust the relief organizations anymore.” And you know what? They’re right. We’ve lost our organizations to liars and grifters. It’s time we rely on each other—like patriots built this country, one by one. And I promise you this, I’m getting your donations to where they need to go. . So to my fellow North Carolinians in the mountains: you are NOT forgotten. If you’re outside of NC, and you want to help, send real supplies. *Money isn’t going to feed or hydrate anyone.* . This is a wake-up call for all of us. Start stocking up water and food. Make sure you’re ready for when, not if, disaster strikes. And if you can, send your donated goods with a friend and make sure the trucks are loaded—our first responders are stretched thin. . Y’all, we can’t wait on elected officials. Special shoutout to Governor DeSantis for doing more for us than our own governor. Thank you, Governor. And to the Baptists out of Boone and Samaritan’s Purse—I trust y’all to do right by our people. . The most important thing you can do? *Pray.* Pray for the folks up there. Pray they turn back to God. And pray for a hedge of protection around those who’ve witnessed things they never should have. . I had a lady at my donation site yesterday whose 10-year-old grandson has seen bodies on the ground. He’s finally getting out today, but y’all, no child should have to see that. . All updated info here: Do what you can. Pray, donate, spread the word. And to those who’ve already helped—*thank you* from the bottom of my heart. We’re in this together. God bless. 🙏 . #leighbrown #onecommunity #NorthCarolinaFlood #help Tucker Carlson Donald J. Chat: Zeudi, how many real friends you have?” Zeudi: Honestly guys, if we want to talk about friendship today… it’s a very big topic. Because when you fall in love, you fall in love — you don’t really choose it. But when you build a friendship with someone, that’s something you do choose. You choose it every day. Just like you choose your family. So the concept of friendship is actually simple: there are friends, and then there are social circles. I have many social circles — but real friends? Maybe one. Two. Maybe not even that. Friends? No. Mostly social groups. I think in life we all have people we spend time with, people to have fun with. But friendship itself is more complex. The people who are lucky enough to build friendships from childhood — that’s different. When you’re young, there aren’t as many layers, masks, or ulterior motives. You’re more naive, more genuine. So friendships can be deeper, more carefree, without overthinking. As adults, it’s harder. It’s harder to make real friends because you know that sometimes it’s “friends, friends”… and then they steal your bike. You have to be careful. I’m not trying to be pessimistic, but it’s better to live with realistic expectations. Appreciate the people who make you feel good as company — that’s fair. But friendship, like love, is built over years. There are people who date for a short time and say “I love you.” For me, honestly, that’s ridiculous. How can you love someone after two months? Three months? Even a year or two? Maybe if you’ve lived together every single day and truly shared life, I can understand it more. But there are people who say “I love you,” break up, get with someone else, and say “I love you” again. For me, that’s not love. Love is built over years, brick by brick — just like friendship. It takes time. People say, “That’s my best friend.” Sure, you can say that. But I personally know that even someone I call a best friend could still betray me. Because I know human nature. I believe in friendship, and I believe in love — but I also know they’re rare. Very rare. Infatuation isn’t a choice. But love, after a while, becomes a choice. And that’s when it starts to resemble friendship. Do you get what I mean? So in my opinion, we need to be realistic. Real friendship is built over years. And the ones who managed to build it from childhood — that’s the truest kind. Because truly knowing someone takes time. 😮‍💨

Jeff Bezos explains what it means to disagree and commit “Disagree and commit is a really important principle that saves a lot of arguing.” There will be disagreements in any endeavor in life where you have teammates. “In society, and inside companies, we have a bunch of mechanisms we use to resolve disputes. And a lot of them are really bad. An example of a really bad way of coming to an agreement is compromise.” He continues: “The advantage of compromise as a resolution mechanism is that it’s low energy, but it doesn’t lead to truth… You shouldn’t allow compromise to be used when you can know the truth.” Another bad resolution mechanism is the more stubborn person winning: “You have two executives who disagree and they just have a war of attrition. And whichever one gets exhausted first, capitulates to the other one. Again you haven’t arrived at truth and it’s very demoralizing.” Jeff tells people on his team to never get to a point where you’re resolving something by who gets exhausted first: “Escalate that. I’ll help you make the decision.” When making decisions, you want to get as close to the truth as possible: “Exhausting the other person is not truth-seeking. And compromise is not truth-seeking.” But there are a lot of cases where no one knows the real truth and that’s where “disagree and commit” comes in: “Escalation is better than war of attrition. Escalate to your boss and say ‘we can’t agree on this. We like each other and respect each other, but we strongly disagree with each other and need you to make a decision so we can move forward.’ Decisiveness and moving forward on decisions as quickly as you responsibly can is how you increase velocity. Most of what slows things down is taking too long to make decisions.” Companies tend to organize hierarchically in which the more senior person ultimately makes the decision. But as Jeff explains in the clip below, that wasn’t always the case—he would often be the one to disagree and commit: “I would often say: ‘You know what, I don’t think you’re right. But I’m going to gamble with you and you’re closer to the ground truth than I am. I’ve known you for 20 years—you have great judgement. I don’t know that I’m right either—all of these decisions are complicated. Let’s do it your way.’ But at least then you’ve made a decision, and I’m agreeing to commit to that decision. I’m not going to be second guessing it. I’m not going to be sniping at it. I’m not going to be saying ‘I told you so.’ I’m going to actively try to make sure it works. That’s a really important teammate behavior.”

On this day, 46 years ago, one of the most controversial movies of all time, 'Cannibal Holocaust' (1980) was released in Italy. Sergio Leone, after watching 'Cannibal Holocaust' (1980), wrote a letter to director Ruggero Deodato, which stated, "Dear Ruggero, what a movie! The second part is a masterpiece of cinematographic realism, but everything seems so real that I think you will get in trouble with all the world." Sergio Leone was proved right. When the film was released in Italy in February 1980, newspapers incorrectly listed it as a documentary. The film was quickly seized, according to a report at the time, for “scenes of sadomasochism, cannibalism, and bestiality”. It was banned under an ancient Italian law, originally to stop bullfighting, which prevented cruelty to animals for entertainment. Deodato was also charged with ki!!ing his actors and faced 30 years in prison. “I hired the best lawyers in Italy and I screened the film,” he told Starburst in 2011. “They watched the film and I thought, ‘That’s it, I’m going to jail.’” “There are devices that Deodato uses to make you think it’s real,” says Shepherd. “They condition you to make you think that these filmmakers know no barriers. They will go past any sense of decency and they will ki!!. If you’re seeing real animal deaths, who’s to say they’re not ki!!ing humans?” There was an extra complication: to convince viewers that the footage was real, Deodato got his actors to sign a contract, agreeing to disappear for a year. (Which recalls 'The Blair Witch Project' (1999) filmmakers setting up a website, filming a fake documentary, and listing its actors as missing). To escape jail, Deodato had to call the actors into his trial. “Look at him, he’s alive!” he pleaded with the court. Deodato received a four-year suspended sentence and a fine of 400,000 lire for obscenity (about £200 at the time, though Deodato later said he was fined “millions of lira”). Cannibal Holocaust remained banned in Italy for three years. (Sources: IMDb and 'Why Ruggero Deodato’s Cannibal Holocaust remains the most controversial film ever made', Tom Fordy, Telegraph, 2022)
