I’m still getting the red screen of death while using Tesla Full Self-Driving 12.5.4 and the sun shines into the windshield. If FSD detects a dirty windshield, it will automatically clean it.

Sun is a lot less of a problem on Mars… all good 🙃

You may have a film on the inside of the windshield where the cameras are located. This happened to my 2023 model y performance. I am not sure what causes the film. Plastic outgassing? Idk

Doubt it. It was fine last week with 12.3.6 and started doing it with 12.5.2.1 and still with 12.5.4.

Yes, I experienced this same issue yesterday evening. I was driving into the sun, and while attempting a left turn at an arrow, I got the red ‘Take over immediately’ screen. I’ve also noticed extreme hesitation at intersections in the dark and rain with this build. It’s the first version to show concern when visibility is poor, which I think is good for safety, but it also highlights the limitations of vision-based systems. Previous versions likely would have continued without issue, potentially giving drivers, including myself, a false sense of confidence.
