We have signed an MOU for the commencement of the 2nd Phase of the Red Line Rail Project. The 2nd Phase of the Red Line Rail will move from Ebute Metta Station in Oyingbo to connect the Blue Line rail at the National Theatre Station. Dear Lagosians, I’m happy to share that we have taken delivery of three brand-new train sets of 12 coaches in total for the Lagos Blue Line Rail. This means shorter wait times and more comfortable trips for everyone using the Blue Line. It’s a step forward in our efforts to make daily commute in Lagos less stressful and more reliable. We’re not stopping here. Work is ongoing to extend the Blue Line all the way to Okokomaiko, and we’re aiming to finish that by 2026. I know it’s been a long time coming, but I truly believe we’re building something that will change how we move around this city for the better. Thank you for being patient and hopeful. Consumer Complaint Resolution Report Mrs. Esther Olasantan, a businesswoman from Isolo Community, Lagos State, purchased a carton of fish on January 30, 2026. Unfortunately, the fish became spoilt after purchase. Upon reporting the issue to the cold room management, she was informed that neither a refund nor a replacement would be provided for the damaged goods. Subsequently, she was referred to the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), Ikeja Office for intervention. The General Manager of LASCOPA, Mr. Afolabi Solebo Esq., invited the cold room management for a mediation meeting. Following deliberations and resolution of the matter, the cold room management agreed to refund the sum of ₦180,000, being the cost of the fish, and an additional ₦20,000 as compensation to Mrs. Olasantan. My name is Engineer Peter Obidike, a beneficiary of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA). Recently, I transported goods valued at ₦10 million from Abuja to Lagos through a well-known transport company. During the offloading process, one of the items was accidentally dropped and damaged. The affected item was worth ₦2.5 million Upon discovering the damage, I promptly contacted the transport company to seek redress. A large number of Lagosians live here, and the corridor serves multiple major markets,this is going to be massive. You can also see the planning: the Blue Line was designed to serve key trading corridors, while the Red Line connects other major commercial zones. That’s smart thinking from Gov Jide Sanwo-Olu. RED LINE UPDATE: The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced that the trial runs for the Red Line Rail project has commenced today, which will take 4-6 weeks to be done. During this period, there will be 4 Trips per day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. FOR MORNING PEAK: In the Morning, the train will move from Oyingbo Station (Ebute Metta) by 8:30am in the morning to arrive at Agbado Station by 9:37am 2nd trip: from Agbado, the train will move by 10:30am back to Oyingbo 11:37am. AFTERNOON PEAK: 3rd trip starts by 12:40 from Oyingbo Station to Agbado Station by 13:47 Final trip to leave Agbado by 14:50 back to Oyingbo Station 15:50 The trains will carry different groups of passengers for the testing period with the hope of getting feedback from their experience.
