Imagine if they just increase their prices by 5 cents so they could round down and not have to fight over pennies. You would never know the difference. This is all psychological.

So funny watching Americans deal with the loss of the penny. Sometimes you lose out and sometimes they round up. They don’t pocket the penny either, just goes to the void.

Walmart did it to me too. 1 cent from millions of customers is going to add up quick. I actually didn't realize until I walked out & even then honestly didn't think anything of it but I was wrong. Anyway they can get our money they will.

PSA to my American friends: They round both ways. Canada dropped the penny years ago and we’ve been rounding ever since. • 1 cent or 2 cents total rounds down • 3 cents or 4 cents total rounds up • 6 cents or 7 cents total rounds down • 8 cents or 9 cents total rounds up It balances out over time. If you want to game it, sure, aim for totals ending in 3 cents.

Get use to no more pennies and rounding. 3 and higher gets rounded up. 2 and lower gets rounded down. It is what it is.
