So long long day. I don’t even know where to start and gonna keep it as minimal as I can as I am just exhausted. She had a scare about 4 hours ago where she stopped responding, or reacting to us, was unable to reply or acknowledge us. It’s been a very stressful day for her, on top of the extubation, heat from the Cpap mask was also bothering her a lot. We had a moment of her might having a stroke, her left side started to not be as mobile, they went and did a CT scan, and EEG, did not see any major signs, but wanted to do a MRI also to fully look and rule anything out. They did not show any brain bleed or any major things but did find some irregularly on the right side, seemed minor and didn’t seem like a stroke. They are going to review that and get back to us in the morning/early after noon. Right now she is in a stable place, her numbers are looking fine, and she is still breathing on her own with the mask. We ( me and dad ) are thinking she had a panic attack which could have caused this since her day was so hectic. Please continue to pray for her well being and recovery, that any scary things stay away and that her breathing is strong enough to continue without a breathing tube. She has made some strong ground and positive moves forward today, but those scares are extremely hard on all of us.

Pips is everywhere. Our young giraffe at our Kaluku Neonate Unit in Tsavo can usually be found in the middle of whatever's happening – watching over the smaller orphans, working her way through the browse, keeping a long-necked eye on the daily comings and goings. We rescued her in September last year, after her mother was likely killed by lions. She had narrowly escaped the same fate, and by the time we reached her she was running on her last reserves. Doctors told her husband she was brain dead, and he made the heartbreaking decision to take her off life support. But now the story seems to keep changing. The media initially reported that she had passed away. Her GoFundMe also said she had died — but that has recently been updated to say she is now in hospice care and breathing on her own. So at this point, no one seems to know the full truth. I just hope this latest update is the real one… that she’s still here and still fighting. 🙏

Over “financial troubles.” Second, when they allegedly allowed dangerous illegals into the country and did nothing to prevent it or stop them while they gang r*per her. Third, when they convinced her euthanasia was the best option and made her feel like there was no turning back. Even convincing her and her family that her organs were already compromised after the decision was made. We don't know if that part is really true, but it is difficult to believe or understand since she has been living for years after the injury she sustained jumping from the 5th story of the government center. It is difficult to think about, but she is likely taking her last breaths as I type this. Still praying for a miracle, but unfortunately, we are at the scheduled time. She should be alive and well right now and maybe even starting a family of her own. Instead, she is in a hospital all alone for what is scheduled to be the last moments of her life. But anybody who actually knew Peggy knew that Bear followed her around the house like a shadow and slept on the floor beside her bed every night. Peggy was 79 and stubborn about living on her own. Her son had been after her for a year to move somewhere with people around, and she kept telling him she was fine, that she had Bear and that was plenty. One morning in the kitchen, she reached up for a mug on the top shelf and her legs just went out from under her. She came down hard on the tile and couldn't get herself back up. Her phone was on the counter, way out of reach, and the house was dead quiet except for her own breathing. Bear was at her side before she even finished falling. He nosed at her face and pressed against her, and when she told him to go, he ran to the front window and started barking, the deep kind the whole street could hear. He wouldn't stop, going from the window to Peggy and back again, over and over, until a neighbor two doors down finally came out to see what all the noise was about. She found Peggy on the floor and Bear standing guard over her, and she had the ambulance there within minutes. Peggy came home a week later with a cracked hip and a new respect for that dog. She still won't hear a word about moving. She says she already lives with somebody who looks out tor her.
