Imo State Government came out and debunked the rumour and stated clearly that there is no such plans or program. Youths from Imo State still went and burnt down the school rumoured to be the venue for the program. The signal this action is sending to people from other parts of Nigeria, especially the North, is that, while People from Imo State and South-East region of Nigeria are welcomed in other regions and parts of Nigeria and are allowed to carry out their day-to-day social and economic activities, people from other regions and parts of Nigeria are not welcomed in South-East, Nigeria. Sensible South-Easterners should resist their region being isolated from other parts of the Country. Actions like this taken by m!screants will do nothing but set the region backward. Now you wonder why people don’t invest in SE, now you wonder why business men from SE run to South-South, South-West, Middle-Belt and North-West to set up their businesses. Who would rebuild this school burnt? The answer is definitely not Nwo Diali.
