We captured this beautiful moment as Egejurum Onyedikachi and Don-Anele Munachimso arrived at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, yesterday to a true hero's welcome. These are not football stars. They are not musicians. They are not politicians. They are children. Children who became the world's best in Mathematics in the Primary and Senior categories. Don-Anele Munachimso is also the world's best in Science. The last literary figures from the South East to receive this kind of heroic public welcome were Chinua Achebe and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Watching our brightest young minds being celebrated like national heroes gives me hope. For too long, we have celebrated almost everything except academic excellence. That is beginning to change. This is the new public school in Abia State. 19 others are currently being built. What they’re doing is transforming already existing schools into this. This is American-standard schooling. You remember I once criticized their first smart school attempt, which the government later condemned entirely and followed this approach instead. I’m so impressed with the Abia State Government. They listen, and they are truly for their people.

We made this short documentary telling the story of how our stars Egejurum Onyedikachi, Onwubiko Chimdiebube, and Don Anele Munachimso went from competing in and winning the South East Maths Olympiad to bringing home gold medals at the International STEM Olympiad in Rome last week. It's such a beautiful and inspiring story to watch. Seeing students from the South East achieve this on the international stage reminds us of what is possible when young people are given the right opportunities. We are changing the story of education in the South East and Nigeria, and this is just the beginning.

Last jamb was a disaster for my village youngsters. Over 70% of them failed jamb and the rest sparely passed. Rather than waiting for the government, we decided to take a different approach. We took the challenge upon ourselves for it not to repeat itself again. Every youngster in my village right now is on an intensive morning and evening drilling for next years Jamb and they undertake CBT once monthly with large pool of 16 years past questions across different subjects. In the CBT we track their performances on different topics and lays more emphasis on their weaknesses across different subject topics. One common thing we noticed is that many of the youngsters are alien to computers and can't even use a mouse nor keyboards. How were they planning to succeed in jamb when they could had probably be using a computer for the first time on Jamb day? It's an eye opener and our mission is for all of them to score above 250. We will be paying for all their jamb exam fees and are also offering full scholarship to everyone that scores 300 and above.

I just watched this disturbing video of nursery school pupils of Community Primary School, Umuora Obulechi, Oriuzor, in Ezza North LGA of Ebonyi State, receiving lessons in their terrible classroom. The government just suspended the teacher and principal for letting someone show the rot in this school. This same state spent billions sending a handful of persons to the UK for education while ignoring the poor children and poor families. Let’s find the suspended teachers and support them. We can pay them a year salary each and find other ways to support them. For the government that suspended them, shame on you. Fix this school for Christ sake and don’t be wicked to these children.

This was the pregnant woman in severe labour pain at Uwani General Hospital that prompted Joy Ezeugwu to make a video describing the deplorable state of the hospital. No oxygen, no water, no fatal monitoring check for babies and no light. Mosquitoes were everywhere. The option they had was to keep praying. The doctor finally came at 7am the next day and told them to buy fuel of N4000 for emergency CS. The doctor said the woman that had it been the baby was a boy child, he would have died, because boys can’t withstand prolong labour. After delivery, the mosquito coil was kept beside the baby to inhale the rubbish. The place was not fumigated at all. Joy former school administrator Ifeyinwa Peace Okwudo told Joy that the woman’s condition or the hospital’s condition is non of her business. That other students were in the same hospital. Why was it Joy that the devil sent to destroy her school. We can’t keep living this way. We are human beings and not animals. Thank you Joy for standing up for what is right.

The architectural design of the first facility for our Center for Igbo Apprenticeship Program (Igba Boi) and Imu Oru Aka (Skill Training) is ready.
