I met with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, in Rome. We had an excellent and very substantive discussion on all aspects of the diplomatic situation. We appreciate Italy’s active role in generating practical ideas and defining steps to bring peace closer. I briefed her on the work of our negotiating team, and we are coordinating our diplomatic efforts. We are counting greatly on Italy’s continued support – it matters for Ukraine. I also want to express my gratitude for the package of energy assistance, the necessary equipment – this is exactly what will support Ukrainian families, our people, children, and everyday life in our cities and communities, which continue to endure constant Russian attacks. We must protect lives. Thank you, Italy!

A good and productive meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte Mark Rutte, President of the European Council António Costa António Costa, and President of the European Commission Ursula Ursula von der Leyen. I briefed the leaders on the situation on the diplomatic track. We discussed in detail our work with U.S. partners on steps toward peace, security guarantees, and strengthening our resilience. I have arrived in Oslo. Important meetings are scheduled, as well as the signing of a bilateral document that will help strengthen our security. Ahead are talks with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, meetings with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and with Norwegian parliamentarians. We continue active diplomacy with our partners for the sake of protecting lives and bringing closer a real and guaranteed peace.

An important meeting for our bilateral cooperation with Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rumen Radev. Our countries need strong relations, and today we discussed this. In particular, energy issues – we can implement a lot together, especially on LNG. Europe’s dependence on Russian energy resources is decreasing, and it is important that partners have alternatives. Rumen spoke about his diplomatic contacts and what Bulgaria is doing for security in the Black Sea. We agreed that our teams will stay in touch. I invited Mr. Prime Minister to Ukraine. Thank you.

I informed about our conversation yesterday with President Trump, our work with leaders of the Coalition of the Willing to advance peace and ensure Ukraine’s security, and the security architecture for Europe. And Slovakia will not stand aside. The Prime Minister told me about his contacts in China. A separate and important topic was Europe’s energy independence — Russian oil, just as Russian gas, has no future. Slovakia supports Ukraine on its path toward the European Union. This is highly significant. We also share the view that Ukraine and Moldova must continue moving together toward EU membership. Equally important is that bilateral cooperation on economic, energy, and infrastructure matters here, in our region, strengthens our peoples and our countries. Thank you for the meeting. It is important that we have this dialogue, and we will continue it.

In Germany, I held a meeting with Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz Olaf Scholz. I am grateful for the comprehensive support, especially the military assistance provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. This support is very important — it is the foundation of our successful fight for Ukraine’s independence. I am grateful for the leadership in strengthening our air defense system, which saves Ukrainian lives. I thanked Emmanuel for his clear and principled stance in support of Ukraine and the need for new, more substantial steps to protect our entire Europe—our peoples, our institutions, and our European way of life. I had a productive meeting with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. I’m grateful for his unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. President Erdoğan noted Ukraine's efforts to bring our people back home. He especially appreciated the return of Crimean Tatars and expressed gratitude for these efforts. I assured him that our team will continue this work. We are preparing to hold a conference in Türkiye focused on food security and freedom of navigation as part of the implementation of the Peace Summit decisions.

President Trump invited Ukraine and other European countries to Washington today – this is the first meeting in such a format, and it is very serious. When peace is discussed for one country in Europe, it means peace for all of Europe. We are ready to continue working with maximum effort to end the war and to ensure reliable security. These are the key issues. Last night, Russian attacks on our cities continued – among those killed were two children, and dozens of people were wounded. People were simply sleeping when the Russian army launched strikes on the cities. We discussed the battlefield situation and our strong diplomatic capabilities – Ukraine’s and all of Europe’s together with America. We must prepare ourselves for the fact that not all parts of a peace agreement will likely meet our sense of justice. This is the first visit by the President of Ukraine to Armenia in the past 24 years. It is important that we are restoring active dialogue between our countries. We discussed the situation in the region, as well as security challenges and threats. I briefed the Prime Minister on the diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a real peace. We also discussed the development of our economic partnership.
