The Kurdish people and the Jewish people both know how it is to be a stateless nation for millennia. DavidBrog says that the Kurdish people have suffered persecution in the Middle East for centuries and that this why Israel is so willing to help the Kurds. Israel has had particularly good relations with the Kurds in Iraq since the country's Jewish population fled to Israel from the late-1940s and did so via Kurdistan with support from neighbouring Iran.
