Marshal Rokossovsky was the commander of the First Parade(the celebrated commander of the main offensive direction in the Battle of Stalingrad) and handed it over to Marshal Zhukov according to procedure, and he handed it over to Stalin and requested approval for the start!

If I were given one chance for time travel, I would pick the 1945 Moscow victory parade and see these great warriors in real time!

My goodness that's historic! When Generals were horsemen, echo's of a time gone by when Equine Cavalry was a cornerstone of military force.

Not really the first “Victory Day” parade. There was a victory parade on June 22, 1945 (obviously they couldn’t organize a full parade the day of victory), and Victory Day was an official non-working day through 1947, but it was only under Brezhnev in 1965 that it became a full holiday with a parade. The first true “Victory Day Parade” was held in 1965.

W emocjonalnej scenie z pierwszej parady Dnia Zwycięstwa, radzieccy marszałkowie Georgy Żukow i Konstantin Rokossowski wjeżdżają na koniach na Plac Czerwony z przeciwnych stron i salutując sobie.
