fair, the bag part is kinda sloppy if the goal is less mess. would a tin can or glass jar work, or is trashing it still a miss?

I use old cottage cheese containers. Run them through the dishwasher to store them, then use to contain stuff like this for throwing it away.

You can just wash a plastic bottle (like soda bottles) and put it in there, the you can make soap with it. The kind of soap that makes any white clothes brighter.
