Tensions between the tribes and the Syrian Government in Raqqah and Deirezzor are steadily rising. 1. Al Azbah/Ezbah oil refinery was set ablaze by tribal fighters who demand a % of the oil from the refinery which the STG refused. 2. 2 tribal families in Gharanji clashed with each other over land disputes (to my understanding) with the STG trying to intervene which ended with all 3 parties clashing with each other and the death of 1 woman alongside several wounded people. 3. Locals in Raqqah have started attack a convoy of trucks, assaulting the drivers and forcing the convoy to turn around. Reason for this attack is that the trucks were from other regions of Syria which these residents did not allow/want*

Prior to the clashes and the initial attack on the checkpoint of the Kurdish security forces - at a joint checkpoint, Syrian Government Forces can be seen quickly evacuating the checkpoint - evidence of their knowledge of an imminent attack. Yesterday - the Kurdish security forces also shot down a drone from the STG that kept surveillance on the checkpoints in Aleppo. The clashes that are currently going on in Aleppo are part of a calculated plan - for Jolani, a former ISIS emir and leader of Al Qaida in Syria, massacring and oppressing minorities have been part of his identity for the past 14 years. Putting on a suit does not change that. For Turkey, this all about the lust for violence and the blood of the Kurdish people.

Earlier today, the STG under the leadership of Jolani has attacked a checkpoint of the security forces of the Kurdish neighbourhoods in Aleppo. 2 members of the security forces were wounded - Shortly after this incident, clashes erupted between the two sides. The clashes saw a brief pause and have since escalated into large scale clashes - the STG attempted to storm the neighbourhoods several times.

The Syrian Government under Jolani has freed the STG commander Talha Abu Bakr. Before that, Talha was in prison for criticising Jolani - he was also among the commanders who spearheaded the massacres against the Alawite and Druze minority in Syria at the hands of the STG - proudly posting videos of him walking on corpses of murdered civilians. The Jolani led STG is again demonstrating that they do not care about prosecuting the perpetrators of the massacres against minorities in Syria - Talha as an example was imprisoned for insulting Jolani yet he was not punished for massacring countless innocent civilians, even posting the evidence himself.

More and more reinforcements of US forces are arriving in Palmyra, Syria - where a joint STG x USA patrol was ambushed today resulting in at least 3 wounded US soldiers. Accompanied by US jets and helicopters, it does look like the US forces will carry out a large scale operation to comb the area. An interesting observation: the Tanf-FSA forces who are now formally part of the STG seem to be excluded from the operation, they are only accompanying the convoys and deployed to block off the roads.

Meanwhile crowds of Jolani-supporters have gathered and started to attack the protesting Alawites. 1 video shows how vehicles are being used to run over Alawite protesters. Situation on Aleppo [13/1/2026]: After the victory in #Aleppo, the #STG took advantage of the momentum gained with Turkish-American diplomatic support to prepare for an offensive in the east of Aleppo governorate, sending reinforcements together with the SNA (& TSK support) to the Tishrin and Deir Hafer fronts, as well as to Raqqa, on the Ma'dan-Ghanem Ali axis. Consequently, the #SDF has also sent reinforcements to these fronts in anticipation of a large-scale confrontation that will end any attempt at diplomacy in Syria and mark the beginning of a new violent phase of the civil war.

The appointment of Nour al-Din Issa on 1 February as governor of Hasakah is an important milestone for the Kurds in Syria. Not because of the appointment of Kurdish governors, which already existed under the previous Syrian political regime, but because of the current situation, where, following the agreement between the STG and the SDF, the Kurds have a kind of autonomy in Hasakah, with a token presence from Damascus there while the YPG maintains its armed forces in full, with future integration that will only be a political facelift without dissolving their forces. A massacre of the Kurdish population has been avoided thanks to the intervention of regional actors, which may set a precedent that could be applied to the Druze in Suwayda (following an agreement with Israel) and even to the Alawites (although this is more unlikely due to the lack of armed organisations on the coast similar to the YPG or the National Guard). However, this decision has not satisfied the tribal forces and the more radical groups of the STG, who see this agreement as a kind of surrender by Damascus ‘to the Kurdish separatists’, especially by the SNA, an umbrella organisation of openly anti-Kurdish terrorist groups that have seen their area of control in Ras al-Ayn being managed by the latter. These disputes could lead to sabotage of the agreement in the coming weeks, as is being seen in Kobani, where militants are refusing to withdraw from their positions south of the M-4.

Al Jazeera confirms in their live coverage of the events in Aleppo the presence of ISIS fighters amongst the forces of the Syrian Government of the Jolani led Syrian Administration. These ISIS fighters are not wearing the uniform of the Syrian Governments military apparatus nor do they bear any other insignia. The STG is using ISIS fighters as paramilitary forces to attack the Kurdish neighbourhoods in Aleppo - they did the same at the Syrian coast, where that massacred the Alawite minority and in Suweida where they massacred the Druze minority.

This footage was taken by a Kurdish journalist in the hospital of Kobane - published by Ronahi TV (a Kurdish channel) The village was attacked by the Syrian Government during which the STG seized control of the village (you can check the timeline, we reported this way before the STG seized control over this village) But for better understanding: if the village was not in Kurdish control, then the wounded children would not have been brought to the hospital in Kobane. Logic: if the YPG was in control of the village, why would they start to bombard it? If the YPG did bombard the village as it was in STG control, why were the children then brought to a Kurdish hospital in Kobane? Syrian Government Media does not even care to accurately create their propaganda. They know that by now, they can blame anything on the Kurds and the STG fanatics will believe it. The village is currently under the control of the YPG again - and it is being attacked by the Syrian Government.

Situation on Aleppo, Raqqa & Hasakah [2/2/2026]: On 30 January, a definitive ceasefire was agreed following an agreement reached between the Syrian Transitional Government & the Syrian Democratic Forces for the gradual political and military integration of the SDF. Among the points agreed upon, it is worth noting the limited deployment of MOI forces on the "line of separation" between the SDF/YPG and the STG, which have withdrawn from much of the front line. There will also be a limited deployment of the MOI in the cities of Qamishli, Hasakah and Kobani, as well as at the Sweidiyeh oil wells and border posts. In exchange, the SDF will create four positions that will be incorporated into the Damascus military apparatus, both directly and indirectly, as well as decision-making powers for the SDF in the governorate of Hasakah, which could be considered a form of autonomy alongside the rights promised to the Kurds two weeks ago. During the early afternoon of today, MOI forces began their coordinated deployment with Asayish forces in Hasakah and Kobani for the time being.
