Part of my speech at the conference: I addressed how digital radicalization is not a regional threat.. IT IS BORDERLESS. These groups don’t care if you’re in Paris, Dubai, or Prague. They target the isolated, the angry, the misinformed through platforms designed for connection, now repurposed for division. In Europe, the challenge is even more complex. Extremist actors often operate under the cover of “activism” or “free speech,” exploiting democratic values to spread undemocratic ideologies. My question is simple but urgent: Who do we want shaping the minds of the next generation.. algorithms & extremists, or educators, thinkers, and responsible voices?

If the government is spending millions of taxpayer dollars on reconciliation, then the public deserves to know one thing: what does success look like? What is reconciliation, and when do we know we’ve achieved it? The minister couldn’t answer Instead, we were told reconciliation is a “journey.” There is no finish line. No measurable goal. No clear definition. That should concern every British Columbian. Government programs must have accountability. They must have measurable outcomes. If there is no way to define success, then there is no way to measure whether the government is actually achieving anything. Reconciliation matters. Bringing people together matters. But the public deserves clarity about what government is trying to accomplish, how it will get there, and how we will know when we have succeeded. Without that transparency, reconciliation risks becoming an open-ended policy with no accountability to the people of British Columbia. When government redefines “infrastructure” to include AI and data systems, the impacts are not abstract. Workers face displacement, and vulnerable Canadians risk being shut out as essential services move toward AI-enabled, digital-only models. Yet Parliament was never given the opportunity to debate or approve this $10-billion expansion of the Canada Infrastructure Bank’s mandate. Even the Minister of Infrastructure has acknowledged there is no bill authorizing this sweeping change. Redefining how billions in public dollars are allocated is not a technical adjustment. It is a fundamental policy shift, and Canadians deserve clarity, transparency, and full parliamentary accountability when changes of this magnitude are made.

Because at the same time, we are opening Pandora’s box and allowing a lot of hate speech on these platforms and social media. We are too weak and too naive. And we should ask these platforms, first, to completely block bots. We have to be sure there is one single person with one account. If this is an AI system, if this is bought and organized by a big organization, it should simply be forbidden. We need transparency of the algorithm. We are a democracy. We don’t ask for the IP, but we do ask for transparency, which is part of our democracy. We need responsibility from these platforms when they don’t respect our social order, when they don’t respect our rules. And to allow us to do so, we have to go further in order to sue those who clearly decide not to respect our rules and our regulation. And we should block all those who refuse to comply.
