In a bold show of resilience, farmers in the region are undergoing training to defend themselves against band!ts who warn£d them not to go to their farms this year. Despite the thr£ats, the farmers have made it clear they will not yield to the band!ts’ demands. “We are farmers,” they declared, “and we will not agree to stay away from our farms.” The local farming community in zamfara state is determined to prot£ct their livelihood and continue agricultural activities even in the face of insecurity.

Had a good meeting with Michael Gelchie, CEO of the Louis Dreyfus Company, a French global leader in agriculture, food processing, international shipping, and finance. We discussed their plans to create a dedicated business unit for pulses and their efforts to collaborate with farmers to improve agricultural practices in our State. Maharashtra, with its strong food processing sector, is the ideal partner for this initiative. We also explored a potential partnership on a World Bank-supported program to enhance farm practices. Another great day of helping others here in #Ukraine. Today was spent on a farmers field checking for mines and UXOs. We visited this farmer over a week ago and I told him we will help him, and keeping to our word, we are back. Please see for your way to support our mission and give hope to these farmers who are heading back to their fields regardless of the danger because they need to support their families.

For farmers with up to 5 acres of land, we will completely waive off the crop loans taken from agricultural cooperative banks. For farmers with more than 5 acres, we will explore the possibilities and take firm action to waive up to 50% of their crop loans. We won’t be like the other party , promising things to everyone and then deceiving them by setting eligibility criteria and showing bias. A thief sneaked into their farm at night and harvested their entire wheat crop using an agricultural machine. He completed the operation in less than two hours and then fled. They worked on this crop for a full year, and its value is a quarter of a million Egyptian pounds.

Over 2,000 farmers participated in a training session aimed at boosting their income through pepper cultivation. The session was organized by Cauvery Calling - an initiative of the Save Soil movement that aims to revitalize River Cauvery, the lifeline for 84 million people in southern India. The objectives of the training session were to raise awareness about the potential of pepper farming and to provide practical guidance. Successful farmers showcased their methods, while experts from the Indian Institute of Spices Research, a constituent body of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, explained crop varieties, growth strategies, value addition, and marketing techniques. Soybean farmer: We depend on the Chinese market. And right now we have 0 sold for this crop. It's a 5 alarm fire for our industry. We are not price competitive with Brazil due to the retaliatory tariffs. Our prices are about 20% higher, and that means that the Chinese are going elsewhere. And the American soybean farmers and their families are suffering.
