Surprising: The US Department of Defense and the military built some of the most complicated software systems in the 70s and 80s. In the 70s, these organizations probably had the most code to deal with - globally! - and things like distributed computing were pioneered thanks to these use cases. 2. The three axes of software architecture Grady argues that when talking about software architecture, we should look at these three dimensions: ceremony, risk and complexity. 3. The economics of software and software architecture are always connected Machine time was very expensive in the 1960s and 1970s, and software had to be written from scratch. Good architecture meant writing highly performant code to utilize these rather limited machines. However, these days, machine time has gotten very cheap, and there are also plenty of “building blocks” at our disposal: from frameworks to cloud services. Software architecture is frequently still connected with cost: to decide on what services and technologies to use, taking the cost aspect into account! 10 days ago, we introduced Splash the Pot to AoF games to test the feature and gather initial input from players. Since then, we’ve been closely monitoring how it performs and how you interact with it and we got a lot of good feedback. Today, we’re ready to move into the next phase with the introduction of new Infused Splash Pots. 💰 CoinPoker will be adding $500,000 extra per week directly into Splash the Pot. This builds on top of the existing system and turns it into a true rewards layer within the game. For context, Splash the Pot works by triggering random drops directly into active hands. These drops come from a shared splash pool built through gameplay, where 100% of the pool of any splash contribution is returned to players. CoinPoker does not take any cut of it. With the addition of infusion, the system is no longer only driven by player contributions. CoinPoker is adding extra funds on top of the existing pool, so splashes now carry additional value that comes directly from us, and its a net positive for the players. In practice, this leads to bigger rewards appearing directly in-game, including Mega Splashes that can reach up to 1000 big blinds. Pi was built when there were already agent harnesses around. Here’s why Mario Zechner(Mario Zechner), found them suboptimal and built Pi, a minimalist self-modifying agent: #1 - Mario initially was a believer in Claude Code: "I was a believer in Claude code because they were the first that packaged agentic search up in a really compelling package. And at the time that fit my workflow really well. Everything around the LLM was kind of nice and tidy and easy to understand. I was super happy. I was proselytising Claude code." #2 - Reverse engineering Claude Code highlighted the degradation that Mario felt as a user: "I personally like simple tools that are stable and that I can rely on. Even if they have non-deterministic parts, all the deterministic parts should be as stable as possible. That was just not the experience with Claude Code around summer 2025. They would take away your control of the context. They would inject stuff behind your back, which is bad. Then, your workflows stopped working because there's now a system reminder that you don't even see in the UI that would modify the behaviour of the model. They would also do this to the system prompt. I built a little service where I can track the progression or evolution of the system, prompt and tool definitions and, with every release, it was messing with stuff. That just messed with my workflows and I don't appreciate that." #3 - PI was built with an appreciation for simple and reliable tools: "If I commit to a development tool, I want it to be a stable, reliable thing like a hammer. I don't want my hammer to break a different spot every day. That's terrible. We need somebody who goes the full velocity kind of way. But I don't want to work with a tool like that."

This Chinese developer runs 9 agents on Claude Code under a GPT-5.5 orchestrator and they close 500 client tasks a month without a single assistant. His client work is closed without him, on a single laptop and only three subscriptions. The entire system lives on one MacBook Pro M4 with 128 GB of memory and subscriptions to Claude Code and GPT-5.5 cost him approximately $300 a month. There is no CRM, no team, no office only a terminal window with 9 parallel streams. The orchestrator works with a simple system prompt: «You are the orchestrator of a client inbox. Classify every incoming email into 4 categories: code, content, analysis, communication. Delegate to the corresponding worker agent. When the result is ready, check it for completeness, send it to the client on my behalf, and mark the task as closed. Do not ask clarifying questions.» And the orchestrator checks the inbox every 30 seconds, classifies fresh emails, and distributes them to 9 worker agents on Claude Code, each of whom is responsible for their own class of tasks. Here is an example of how one of them closes a request to refactor a client's auth module: Task: refactor user-auth module Broke the monolith into 3 files by responsibilities Added unit tests, coverage increased to 87% Renamed 4 functions to camelCase according to the style guide PR is ready for review, link below» And so about 50 cycles a day. By noon 25 tasks are closed, by dinner 50, and by the end of the month 500. On average, it takes about 7 minutes from the appearance of an email in the inbox to sending the result to the client. This is more than what a live team of 6 developers, copywriters and analysts working 8 hours a day closes. This is no longer an agency. This is a workstation where an orchestrator replaces a manager, and 9 worker agents replace the staff. The pipeline goes from inbox to closing 500 times a month without human participation at any step.

A seawall not above the ground, but a seawall that's in the ground so that the storm and the erosion can't get to it. New septic system, I mean, they may be $3-$5 million dollars into it before one piece of 2x4 is even put up in terms of framing the new house. Do you know how much bureaucracy, red tape and permits worth of nightmare this is going to be? Because regardless of whatever the mayor says, whatever the governor says about expediting this stuff, a septic system is a septic system. The code is the code, the seawall is the seawall. And they're all going to have to happen.”

This video here did for me, as a toddler. The SEOUL 1988 Olympics Theme Song. The determination of the athletes, the DRUMBEATS by those Korean mascots near the end of the video, the beauty of the korean calisthenic ladies and the lyrics remind me of how SANE the world was before. How SPORTS was used to hold the world together and bring peoples together in love and harmony, long before betting came in. Long before money and materialism damaged the game. Music was used to teach people how to live and bring the spirit of the game to the fore. I remember as a child, i and my elder brother would sit and watch this video with so much GLEE and rewind the cassette and play over and over again. Until Vheek McArthur was born and he came around with undying love for the red button of the remote control and WIPED OFF this video from the cassette and changed the joy i and my elder brother were enjoying. We never got it back. Lol It is a perfect reminder of how quickly we have retrogressed as a species since then, even with modern development in science and tech. So sad that MOST people here would never be able to relate. It took me 6 days to search for this particular VERSION of this video cos it is even wiped off YouTube. Had to use very deep search modalities and dodgy downloader bots for it. A week spent assiduously looking for it. Nostalgia and The spirit of the game❤️

The Buck Stops Here: Epstein Explains Rentier Oligarchy Plainly: The Dollar is a Debt That Will Never be Repaid Here Epstein very eloquently describes the power of finance capital through debt: for every dollar the bank has, it can lend out 10 in "our system". This is impossible for the average person to understand. You need Hudson to decode WHY this is the case, how the dollar operates as the world reserve (with the Euro as a silly lab experiment that is totally subservient and essentially 1:1) and why one dollar of real money equals 10 of speculative potential. It's because the dollar is where "the buck stops" - no one can claim to want anything else because there is nothing else. You either play with the arcades tokens or you do not play at all. The dollar is a Ponzi scheme that represents a debt to itself; one that will never be repaid. In this sense all dialectics becomes self referential and tautological and contained: the dollar hegemony is both it's own debtor and creditor. Epstein wasn't very smart, all he could understand was "I can make 10 with 1 real one." That's it, it's not hard, it simply requires a person to flush all reality down the toilet and ignore all common sense. At the end of the day in "our system" more debt = more asset value. If you told the average person on the street that you were 100 million in debt and this was your "asset", they would laugh. But you have to pay the bank. The financial oligarch and the US Government doesn't have to pay anyone. In a bizarre way, this is actually Communism. The structure of a system that can command the value multiplication of 1 to 10 must have all possible future trajectories planned, all possible outcomes weighed and measured, and all power and authority. Then they kind of calculation required to temporally move labor power from the future into the present succeeds; this is a time machine. But in the hands of a stunted pedophile rentier elite, futures are not planned, there is no guarantee, and the bounty of the future becomes a triangle on the top of the pyramid without anything but a volatile herd of feudal lords pecking away at it's basis. It cannot sustain what is necessary to access the future. Epstein is so dumb he doesn't realize his entire system was essentially explained to the US government by Hudson in the early 70's when they realized that "the buck stops here." It took the last intelligent Marxist to tell the Empire how it's own money worked. "Fractionalized reserves" as the gateway to unlimited debt.
