In oil paint classes I learned I could start by coating the canvas with a layer of paint and it would subtly influence the final piece. Later I started applying this to my digital illustrations. Digital and traditional aren't as different as people think. Mermay timelapse:

Me mouth painting, The Rooster. A video of me painting from start to finish. I had to turn the canvas upside down because of my physical limitations. It’s very hard to paint in top corners as my reach is very limited. I’m only able to paint with my mouth.

I haven't painted in canvas for about 2 years. Trying to battle depression, I wanted to start again. So I decided to paint my friend's cat Tofu, who passed away this year as an extra drive for me to give it my all and finish it.

Such a strange feeling to see brush-strokes, compositions and color transform like this with AI as I paint.. almost like seeing worlds and images flow from the tip of the Wacom pencil. Done using Krea ai as an overlay over my painting software as I paint. The final zoom is a combination of Krea and Magnific enhancements over the original sequence. #art #ai

my LAST comment - as the response to this was that i was apparently tracing my line art (which i wouldn't be able to hide in ibis paint btw) - here's a quick sketch on paper as i jst want this to be over. I'm not the best at shading with pencil which is why i do digital art..

Poor guy had his paint can hanging from the garage door when his girl opened it. Wasn’t anybody’s fault but his imprint on the car was hilarious, could this have been avoided? Me thinks he won’t be doing that again. When I was fixing up the current house I was working on I left one of those paint cups on the steps. Some people knocked on the door while I was working so I rushed downstairs to check to see who it was. Some people saw I was working on a house and was asking about rent details. Afterwards I had a quick puff on the vape mod and grabbed a drink. I casually walked upstairs totally forgetting I left that cup on the stairs, I stepped in it with the front portion of my foot, fell onto the handing and was coated in a splash of paint, it got on the wood stairs as well. I didn’t have time to clean myself up well because I needed to hurry up and clean the wood stairs before the paint sets and stains it. I managed to get most of it but then a new problem arose. The paint on me was still dripping. So I had to strip down and throw the clothes in a wadded ball and bagged it. Now the problem is solved right? No, how can I walk to the car in my undershirts without being noticed by the neighbors. I ended up standing by the door waiting until the coast was clear, I swear it felt like an hour but was only about 7 minutes. I think I need to heed my own warnings and start packing a pair of a spare clothes for instances like this or at least some painters smocks.

had to quit traditional art due to my tremor condition (where in bad days it is uncontrollable), and quit art in general for a full year or two after that i started with digital since it has stabilizers! then i joined the vtuber community and lots of people have commed me since!

i had that problem for a long time too. i just stopped using blending modes and now i paint over the sketch at like 50% opacity and layer it up. I’m bad at explaining but this timelapse should show what I mean
