No capital gains tax No tax on home equity No GST Better currency of 1:1 parity with US$ Better pension plan More freedom for my children and grand children Canada Parks will become Alberta Parks and will be much better managed Cheaper flights/phone/internet services A Constitutional Republic is superior to the archaic Parliamentary government.

Lets talk about it: Alberta created without a recorded vote. Used as a resource colony for 25 years. Given resources at the onset of the worst economic disaster in the 20th century. Spilled Albertans blood for both 1st WW and 2nd WW. 1957 equalization starts to goose Albertans. 1970s Alberta booms with the eastern provinces in envious greed. 1980s eastern canada wrecks Alberta. EEE senate (fail) 1990s libs treat us with contempt. Reform party tries to fix confederation on a federal level and the federal level tries to fix the constitution (both fail) 2000s libs try to screw Alberta again with Kyoto accords. 2001 firewall letter (bluster) 2021 equalization referendum (nothing) 2022 sovereignty legislation (tough talk) What hasn't been tried? The only option is Alberta independence.

Corey, you cite "uncertainty" while ignoring the $20 billion in annual interprovincial trade barriers. Capital isn't fleeing because of a conversation; it’s fleeing regulatory red tape and stalled productivity. Albertans aren't "tearing the country apart", they are demanding a federation that works for the people paying the levies. If you want community builders to "show up," listen to them.

Push back? Your an MP? Make an Alberta and a Canada that people would want to stay in and help your constituents and help your province for once instead of being a liberal backbencher. Pushing back is nothing more than dividing your own constituents.

The best way to fight against it, is to let the vote take place. The next best way is for every inequality in the country to be dealt with. Promptly. No tanker ban on east coast? Then none on west coast. Alberta gets six senators? Then every province gets six senators. Ontario has one MP per 130,000 voters? Then every province gets the same. Quebec gets to choose judges in federal court? Then every province gets to do the same. Quebec gets to choose immigration criteria? Then every province gets to do the same. Then, stop interfering in provincial jurisdictions. Stop it. Completely. Stop using flimsy excuses to interfere, to infringe, to subvert the authority of the provinces. Get our of healthcare conditions, stop interfering with municipalities, stop infringing on resources. Stop using environment as an excuse. You think provinces are not smart enough to figure out environmental issues, which are mostly resource based and therefore are provincial exclusive jurisdiction. Stop making guns, which are property, therefore provincial jurisdiction, anathema, because of an incident in Quebec 30 years ago. Not all provinces are the same. Besides, the feds want to ban guns, except for those guns used in crimes and murder. Insane. If you do these things, then we will believe you are fighting for canada. Otherwise you are not fighting for canada, but just for a small segment of it.

As a Manitoban, I support the Alberta separatist movement. I understand why they want to secede. They know nothing will change, that Ottawa will continue to use and abuse Alberta. If they vote to separate, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I don't like politicians that have zero personal expenses (government paid) and get paid much higher then the median to the tell the people who are struggling (over 50% of the population) that their concerns do not exist because Canadians are "rich". Also BMO changed headquarters because of Bill 101 not because of an unsuccessful referendum on independence. Bill 101 passed and changed all language laws for conducting business in Quebec. Emotional platitudes based on a country concept that has been murdered by the current lieberal regime. No facts, no logic, no reason for alberta to remain. Canada needs Alberta- *NOT* the reverse. You're making a case for Canada that simply no longer exists. Institutional stability? It may seem like it on the surface, but every institution in Canada is rotten to it's core. Hollowed out by corruption and ideological activism. Universal Health Care? The health care system across Canada is in shambles. The only procedure you can get same day is medical suicide. Everything else is months or years of wait time, even as costs spiral out of control due to administrative bloat. You're making the case for Ottawa. But all the separatism movement has to do is show people your case, and ask if they feel any of that in their daily lives. The answer is probably no, and that probability goes up the younger the person is. I'm in Ontario. Do I want Alberta to leave? No. But at the same time, we need to recognize that all levels of governance across Canada are completely broken. If you cannot acknowledge the problems, you have no hope of fixing them whatsoever.

How about Canada fights for Alberta?

The Federal Government for years has treated Alberta with total disrespect, disdain, along with denying them the right to be prosperous. Federal Government just wants the money to keep Liberal strong hold provinces like Quebec, Down East and Ontario happy. Its time Alberta stood up and said "No More." They have been held back long enough!

There is no "case for Canada." If there was, you'd be saying it, instead of employing fear mongering, emotional manipulation, and outright lies. You can't give us even one reason to stay, and you propose no plan to to address real grievances. Canada is finished.
