the order file is a lockfile for startup: pinned to the trace you profiled, quietly stale as code paths change. regenerate it per release, or the 2x decays with nothing failing.

Does that profile stay valid if the workload shape changes later?

Hit this with a build script last month. Tight, predictable startup paths captured most of the gain, but anything with dynamic requires at boot barely moved. Does the --bytecode-order profile account for that, or is the 2x mostly on linear startup paths?
