So remember that time machine I told you about? I managed to sneek out another video from my visit to the future.. this time I captured video of a 3d artist creating assets for a short commercial. They sculpted the bird in the video with nothing but two controllers which they used to manipulate generative matter in 3d. The AI model changed in realtime and adopted their style of work, both based on the work they did on the scene, and on reference images they gave the system. Seeing the 3d model transform in realtime as they were working on it was incredible. When it started moving and reacted to their instructions, I knew it was time to return to the present :D #art #ai

When creating this cut for SCP:GALLIONIC's trailer we started out with a 3D layout, where the general movement and camera placements are decided. Then animation and Backgrounds are worked on in tandem. Creating the background was fairly straightforward (just define the structure, textures and lighting) [done by Brando Leon Rustici - (So So Animations) ] Animation however, was definitely a bit trickier, but Jag アニメーター really knocked it out of the park: especially with such complicated designs and number of individual objects, it's always good (as he's done) to break it down first to just "blobs", to get the movement down and after that actually drawing the characters properly. Mikey Nowack, other than being being responsible for SCP-1762's design, also took care of the colour script for this cut, and together with Wing (in charge of compositing) brought the final scene to life! We can't quite believe it, but we've never posted an FX Animation Breakdown before! There's been such amazing FX work done on so many of our projects, we're definitely going to show you more of how it's done. This film in particular was so FX heavy, we had to highlight the crazy work that went into it. You all know we love an action sequence. But for this one, we took a pretty different approach than we usually do! The entire thing was rendered through FX animation. The animator did their rough and tie-downs but instead of going into clean-up and BG paint, the FX team rendered the characters as well as animated the background FX (which is a super rare thing to do!). The result is this abstract representation of two magnificent powers colliding in an epic battle!!! During active (or REM) sleep it’s not uncommon for your baby to open their eyes for brief periods, to make noises, and to move their body actively. The (open eyes) phenomenon, known as psychological lagophthalmos, is common in newborns and may be attributable in part to immaturity of their central nervous system. The important thing here is not to be too quick to assume your little one has finished sleeping just because their eyes open. This video is a great example. Baby’s eyes are partially open, but he is in the midst active sleep (which comprises half or more of each newborn sleep cycle). Likewise, there are situations where your child may appear to be asleep, but isn’t. Particularly in bright, noisy, or otherwise overstimulating environments your child may feign sleep (when they are feeling overwhelmed) as a sort of defense mechanism. This is called habituation. And while it may look like sleep it does not provide the same restorative benefits - and often concludes with prolonged periods of crying as a sort of stress relief. Long story short, you can’t always judge your baby’s level of alertness from their eyes alone - so be sensitive and observant in both circumstances.
