Public schools are a reflection of society. As safety nets crumbled schools stepped in with more services to support students, without extra funding or staffing. It's built on the unpaid labor that educators must do to keep the system afloat. And educators are burned out.

Was just talking to another teacher about this yesterday, we spend more time as elementary teachers with the children in our class than we do with our own families. It's an unspoken expectation to leave all of yourself behind during the school year for the sake of the job.

Anyone who thinks this is not remotely true, I invite you to come into a classroom/school for a day. You'd never make it.

All the transphobic “raising questions” articles by the NYT have emboldened the forces looking to shut down public education.

I just wrote a small article about why I quit teaching in 2021. I'm ready to publish it if anyone's interested. It's currently 9 pages.

I'm retiring early this year. My last after 31 year. It's a national crisis.

It’s a horrible job. Every teacher I know was counting the days until retirement. I’ve never met one that said they loved their job.

It's not a money problem America spends far *more* per pupil than peer countries that are getting much better results for less. Americans know what the problem is--the corrupt D3mocr@t Party Organized Labor Administrative State monopoly Fund students, not corrupt systems
